Be careful not to get overloaded with sugar around Lolly, because she is just too sweet! Learn more about her sweet personality, candied name, and sugary catchphrase in this Lolly Animal Crossing Villager Guide.
Who is Lolly in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Lolly is a cat villager with a Normal personality in the Animal Crossing games. She was in the first game of the series and has since joined the villager cast ever since.
She wasn’t in Wild World, however, but fans are glad that she’s back for New Horizons. Let’s hope we see her in the next Animal Crossing game as well!
Lolly’s Name
Her English name is derived from lollipop, which suits her sweet nature and matches her English catchphrase very well.
Meanwhile, she is called Ramune in Japanese, which is a popular Japanese soda with a blue-colored bottle that resembles her color.
Lolly’s Looks
Lolly has a bluish-gray coat, with gray stripe markings on her face, legs, and tail. Her paws are white and look fluffy. She also has gray ears, with the inner ears being pink.
Overall, she resembles a real-life tabby cat, although just not in color.
What makes Lolly stand out from other cat villagers are her eyes and mouth. Her eyes look like the number 6, and her mouth is curved like the number 3. Very cute character design, if I do say so myself.
She looks pretty cozy in her gray Snowy Sweater. Her umbrella, a Snowflake Umbrella, matches her sweater, too. Her go-to bag when out and about is a gray net bag.
Lolly’s Catchphrase
In English, Lolly is fond of saying “bonbon”! This is French for candy, which matches her lollipop name. She says “ano ne” in Japanese, which is a cute phrase to say “hey” or just to get your attention.
Lolly’s Personality
Normal villagers are also called Sweet in some Animal Crossing communities, and Lolly definitely shows this innate sweetness in her interactions with the player and her neighbors.
She’s always glad to see you and will cheer you up whenever she can.
She gets along with other Normal villagers, and you will most likely see them plan a book club together or exchange cooking recipes.
She’ll also admire Peppy and Snooty villagers for their differences in music and fashion taste and will ask them for lifestyle advice.
Lolly can have pleasant interactions with Cranky villagers who can get a bit grumpy. Lolly’s hobby is music, so expect her to share her songs with her neighbors. Her music can even melt a Cranky’s cold heart.
As nice and pleasant as she is, Lolly can still get angry. Sometimes, Lazy villagers can be too laid-back and uncaring, and Smug neighbors can have their own difficult moments.
You have to admit that she looks cute angrily stomping around, though!
Lolly’s House
Welcome to Lolly’s simple abode! Her house has a Turquoise Slate Roof, Light-Brown Stucco Exterior for walls, and a plain White Windowed Door. Let’s give her a visit, shall we?
Inside, we see a cozy room, with a Modern Wood Wall and Green Vinyl Flooring. The wooden walls definitely add to the natural and comfortable vibe of her house.
For furniture, she has a Double Sofa for lounging, a Kitchen Island and Double-Door Refrigerator for cooking, and some Wooden Block items for decoration.
Her Portable Record Player has Forest Life as her music of choice.
Lolly’s Popularity
Lolly is fairly popular in many Animal Crossing communities. Her sweet nature, unique eyes, and being a cat help a lot with her popularity.
Chance To Get Lolly
If you’re wondering if Lolly is rare, the answer is a bit complicated. If you do want to get her, there are four methods you can do.
Let’s break down what each method has to offer and which one is the easiest and fastest to do.
Method one involves visiting multiple Mystery Islands to meet her. This is often called villager hunting in Animal Crossing communities and will need a few or a lot of tickets depending on your luck.
The game will randomly pick the villager you’ll meet by rolling for species first and then personality (thanks to the players who did their research on this).
For Lolly, there are 23 cats in the game, and three of them are Normal. You might not end up with Lolly immediately.
The second method involves your Campsite. You will get random visitors, so this still involves a lot of luck and patience to get Lolly.
If you do get Lolly as a camper but you already have a full island, she will randomly pick a villager to replace.
The third method will rely on friends or the online Animal Crossing community. If a player’s villager is leaving, anyone with a vacant lot can visit them and invite them to move to their island on the day that the villager is packing.
Lastly, you can scan Lolly’s Amiibo card to instantly have her visit your island. This is, by far, the easiest method to get Lolly.
What do you need to Get Lolly in Animal Crossing?
Lolly is a simple cat, and thus loves clothes under the Simple category. Add in the colors gray and pink, and you have the ultimate Lolly gift combination.
Try giving her a Cardigan-Shirt Combo, Heart Hairpin, Knit Hat, or a Short Peacoat.
She celebrates her birthday on March 27th. Make sure you give her a wrapped gift to increase your friendship points with her.
Lolly In the DLC
Lolly wants to be a better conversationalist, so she will ask you to build her an emcee room where she can train and practice.
Make sure the room has a Laptop, a Whiteboard, and a Lecture-Hall Desk, or your design won’t be accepted.
And that’s it for this sweet cat. Ready to rank her up in your villager tier list?
Lolly is an amazing Normal villager to have of her cuteness and pleasant personality. Here’s hoping you get to meet her in the game.
