Players will overlook slight glitches as long as they get to squad up with their friends. The more popular the game, the bigger the demand for cross-play compatibility. And Apex Legends is one such game.
Released in 2019 by EA and available on PC (Origin & Steam), Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch, Apex Legends is EA’s title to compete with Fortnite.

Is Apex Legends Crossplay?
Apex Legends is one of the few games to break the barrier and move from non-crossplay to crossplay-enabled.
When it was released in 2019, EA did not allow crossplay in Apex Legends, but then in October 2020, a massive content update was rolled out that allowed players to crossplay Apex Legends with their friends.
So, to answer, is Apex Legends cross-play for all platforms? Yes, Apex Legends is cross-platform on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Playstation. To make it all more impressive, the feature has rolled over to the new generation Xbox and Playstation consoles as well.

How To Toggle On/Off Apex Crossplay?
If you are one of the few people who don’t want to compete with cross-platform players, there is an option to turn off crossplay in Apex Legends.
Ever since it was added in, crossplay is enabled by default. But here’s how you can toggle it off – or switch it back on – using the game settings.
- Go to the Game Menu (cogwheel icon).
- Click on Settings.
- Navigate and click on Cross-Platform Play.
- Enable or Disable it as per your preference.
Note: The option to toggle on/off Apex crossplay is only available for console players i.e., Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Playstation users. PC users don’t have this choice.

- Open the Friends menu.
- Navigate and click on Find Friend.
- Type in your friend’s Gamertag.
- You can search for your friend using their email, EA ID, PSN Online ID, Nintendo Nickname, or Xbox Live tag.
And that’s how easy it is to add friends in Apex Legends and enjoy crossplay battle royales.
Does Apex Legends Support Cross Progression?
Cross progression might not be as important as crossplay for some players, but it’s still a great feature to have. Sadly, Apex Legends does not support cross-progression for consoles just yet.
But if you are using a PC and playing on both Steam and Origin, you can enjoy cross-progression.
Moreover, cross-progression for Apex Legends has been announced and will be coming in 2022- just no specific date!
