In this article, we answered all your questions about Friday The 13th crossplay and more.
So, let’s get straight to it.
Is Friday The 13th Crossplay?
As much as we’d want this to be true, it’s not. Friday The 13th does not have crossplay. Although it is available on every major gaming platform, you can only enjoy multiplayer mode with friends who are playing on the same platform as you.
Friday The 13th: The Game is available on the following platforms:
- Nintendo Switch
- Windows PC
- Playstation 4
- Xbox One
Yes, it is available on Nintendo Switch, and the developers have done an excellent job with the gameplay and graphics. The wider platform support might also be the reason why Friday The 13th crossplay didn’t happen.
We do understand that matching up console and PC players with Nintendo Switch gets very difficult because of the server technicalities. And, it is also unfair to the players playing on the tiny Nintendo Switch display, but console players should get Friday The 13th crossplay.
However, that also looks like a dream that won’t be materialized.
Is Friday The 13th Game Crossplay on Xbox & PC?
No, Friday The 13th crossplay won’t work between Xbox and PC. Players on Xbox One can only team up with other Xbox players and PC players can only play along with PC players.
Some games do offer crossplay between Xbox and PC using the Xbox Cloud Gaming service, but Friday The 13th doesn’t get that support either. However, if you play Friday The 13th on Xbox One, you can enjoy it with Xbox 360 users.
Is Friday The 13th Game Crossplay on Playstation & Xbox?
Just as Friday The 13th crossplay doesn’t work between Xbox and PC, it won’t work between Playstation and Xbox too.
The game was released for PS4 and Xbox One, but fans are hoping against hope that the new-gen consoles might bring crossplay compatibility- more on this later.
For now, PS4 players can only play with PS4 players- no workaround possible to crossplay Friday The 13th with your Xbox or Nintendo Switch friends.
Is Friday The 13th Crossplay on PC & Playstation?
If you want Friday The 13th crossplay between PC & Playstation, we’ve some bad news for you- it’s not possible. The servers for both PC and PS4 are different, which makes it near impossible for players to join the same game while playing on different consoles.
If you think not having crossplay is disappointing, wait until you read the next couple of sections.
Friday The 13th on PS5
Friday The 13th runs on PS5 with even better graphics and frame rate than PS4, thanks to backward compatibility and the best gaming hardware yet.
But, ever since the release of PS5, fans have been wondering about Friday the 13th cross-platform feature.
Players who are aiming to switch from PS4 to PS5 are worried whether they’ll have to lose all their progress or would they be able to move it along to the next-gen console.
Sadly, Friday The 13th doesn’t have cross-platform or cross-progression support either. Meaning if you switch your console or upgrade your console, you will lose all your in-game progress.
And since no more updates are coming to the game, there is no point in hoping for cross progression on Friday The 13th.
Friday The 13th on Xbox Series X/S
Just like on PS5, Friday The 13th on Xbox Series X/S is a bit of an improvement over the Xbox One version but through no fault of the game itself- it’s all because of the new and more powerful hardware that’s able to produce better graphics and run higher and smoother frame rates.
And sadly, just like on PS5, the game doesn’t let players switch over their progress to the next-generation Xbox console.
So, if you are switching your console or upgrading to a new-gen model, you’ll be starting the game from scratch once again.
Is it worth it? That’s for you to decide.
Would we do it? Highly unlikely!
And to be honest, it does tick a lot of the boxes.
No more updates coming out, no cross-play or cross-progression to entice new-gen console gamers, and a lawsuit to add to the problems.
