Genshin Impact All Unusual Hilichurl Locations and Time

Hilichurls are the non-aggressive, almost NPCs, that are sadly farmed like KFC chickens, more so in co-op. Unusual Hilichurls are one of the new additions to an updated Genshin Impact 2.0.

But why are we talking about Unusual Hilichurls?

Primogems/Free-mogems.

Unusual Hilichurls are not that hard to defeat and they can be farmed for Primogems, Mora, lots of adventure exp, and some cabbages.

Given how competitive Genshin has become over the last few months, you need everything you can get to stay at par with friends and foes.

Keeping a proper check Unusual Hilichurl locations can get you a regular dosage of exp and Free-mogems

But Genshin does not make it a walk in the park. I’ve explained that later on.

Unusual Hiliichurls in Genshin Impact: The Basics

You won’t find an Unusual Hilichurl just about anywhere although you can easily spot them out.

Unlike normal Hilichurls, Unusuals will carry a suitcase. They will not attack as long as you do not cause first damage.

Unusual Hilichurls are immune to being frozen and to petrification so as I mentioned before, they are not easy pickings. But neither are they that hard to defeat either.

And now that you’re about to start farming Unusual Hilichurls, you have to know the grinding details.

All Unusual Hilichurl Locations And Time

There are a total of 16 spawn locations and unlike in other games, spawns are random and unrelated to the time of the day.

These Hilichurl locations are divided equally across Mondstadt and the Liyue region, 8 each.

Now before you start thinking about hitting all spawn locations, you can’t.

There can only be 1 Unusual Hilichurl per world.

When you defeat it, a second will spawn at any of 16 locations except where you found the first one.

But once you get the second, there’s a 12-hour cooldown for the next Unusual Hilichurl spawn!

So, over any given day and in regular mode gameplay, you can get 4 Unusual Hilichurls and the rewards. I’ll come to that later.

Unusual Hilichurl Locations Liyue

To add a bit more on Unusual Hilichurl locations, I will suggest moving on with quests instead of looking around these spawn points.

In co-op mode though, you can get rewards for up to 10 Unusual Hilichurls per day, across all worlds.

But whether these Unusual Hilichurl locations and time are correlated, I can say no they are not. At least not after the last few updates to the game.

You can come across one at any time of the day!

Unusual Hilichurl Rewards and How to Farm Them

Although farming is limited to co-op mode, you can keep adding kills over time in regular mode too.

Base reward for defeating an Unusual Hilichurl is 5 Primogems, other than some always welcome exp and cabbages for food.

But there’s an achievement attached to farming Hilichurls, ‘…Well That Was Strange.’

Keep clocking kills.

20 Unusual Hillichurls will reward 10 Primogems.

Defeating 50 will give you 20 Primogems.

This is why Genshin gamers are taking some serious interest in Unusual Hilichurl locations.

How to Defeat Unusual Hilichurls the Easy Way

Unusuals are a bit stronger than our regular Hilichurls but they are easy pickings still. But the Genshin devs have kept things interesting.

Unusual hilichurls have health regen and a few followers too. So you need to play it through.

And these are no pushovers either, almost literally since most Unusual Hilichurl locations are on cliff or mountain tops or some high point.

So you need to be strategic about it for guaranteed victories.

Here are few tips to score Unusual Hilichurl scalps –

1. Get Up Close and Personal

These creatures are odd but agile so ranged attacks won’t really help. They’ll dodge 4 out of 7 ranged attacks no matter how good you are, or 3. Still it’s about efficacy.

So you should rely on melee or short ranged attacks with high AoE.

2. Use High Damage Characters

Don’t drag it or the minions can make it hard enough Use high-damage characters that’ll affect both the Unusual Hilichurl you want dead and its minions.

3. Minions First

Not a popular strategy since doing this will require dodging and moving around a lot, not advisable on high altitude places with steep falls, but getting the little ones sorted is easier.

You should choose characters with enough mobility and attack damage if you intend to farm Unusual Hilichurls this way. Doing that will also help move around a lot more quickly across locations.
