Who is Raiden in Genshin Impact?
“All the world holds dear is but a backdrop of constant motion. I stand before it alone, and unchanging.”
—From The Raiden Shogun
But Then Who is Baal?
The original names for the Electro Archons sisters were Baal (Makoto) and Beelzebub (Ei).
Ei took over Makoto’s position as the Electro Archon. The public is currently unaware that Makoto passed away in the cataclysm 500 years ago and incorrectly refers to Ei as Baal.
Baal is currently not a playable character in the game, and only appears in a few cutscenes. You can read more about her in our guide here.
Raiden Shogun Ei
The Raiden Shogun Ei is a member of the 7 Archons of Teyvat and one of the most powerful figures introduced in Genshin Impact.
She has been ruling Inazuma under her sister’s name and strikes fear into the hearts of all who oppose her. Raiden has devoted herself to overseeing Inazuma’s peaceful Eternity.
Raiden is one of the best Electro characters in the game and will provide a lot of fun and utility to any team she is added to. Her strength, paired with her amazing design and story, made her one of the most successful banner releases in the game.
How to Unlock Raiden in Genshin Impact
Raiden Shogun is an event-exclusive character. This means that once she is announced for a banner rate up, you can only Wish for her in that limited time.
She was last seen in Version 2.1. Her banner was again rerun in Version 2.5 and will again appear in Genshin’s upcoming version 3.3.
