How to Find the Barrier in Genshin?
Finding the barrier itself is easy. But that’s almost the final task of a long quest, Sacrificial Offering is one of the longer ones in the game.
So even though I can and should simply tell you where the barrier is, and if you just know that part, drop down to the bottom. Finding the barrier rims around the climax.

Sacrificial Offering Quest Walkthrough
There’s a lot to get done in this quest. And you’ll be helping Kazari through a long journey of shrines and shadows to find the barrier and defeat the last boss. (Revealed later down below)
Let’s get on with it.
1. Find the Shrine in Konda
You need to take Kazari to the Abandoned Shrine located between Konda Village and Chinju Forest, west of Konda.
You should also collect the Rust Worn Key. The location is added in the map below.
It’s right behind the old man’s house. Or you can complete ‘A Strange Story’ quest right there in Konda to get the key.
Once you’re well-read about the history of the shrine, and you better take note, look around the map to find The Three Mysterious Shadows.
Talk to a shadow and they will teleport to a different location on the map. But all these shadows will come together at the 3 Kitsune statues (3 Foxes).
In case you want to grind right through this part, I’ll help –
- 1st Shadow
In front of a small shrine, located at the entry to the area.
- 2nd Shadow
Right in front of the Electroculus, the primary shrine.
- 3rd Shadow
On the roof of the Kitsune statues, look through the trees.
Once the Mysterious Shadows are lined up, you’ll get the 3 Exquisite Chests with hefty rewards.
But what you better not miss is the Sacred Sakura Cleansing summary. Find it right in the middle of the 3 Kitsune statues.
2. Get the Memento Lens and Go Back to the Abandoned Shrine
This is the easiest task in the whole Sacrificial Offering Quest.
Head over to the Grand Narukami Shrine, Paimon will suggest this for you, and get the Memento Lens.
Now you need to get back to the Abandoned Shrine to locate the Earth Kitsune statues
3. Collect the Ward
Each Kitsune statue will play a scene and you can’t skip any of them. 3 of these scenes complete the code that you need to progress.
This is the best I can do to help you easily locate the little foxes that’ll glow under the Memento Lens. Hard to miss.
Watch them all, and head over to the Sky Kitsune statue. That’s where you need to recite – ‘In the Name of Narukami’s envoy’, ‘And of the Hakusin blood’, ‘Bring forth the frying tofu!’ [This is not a typo!]
Get the ward and finally, you’re ready to find the barrier.
4. Where is the Barrier in the Sacrificial Offering Quest?
You will find the barrier after crossing the pool in the cavern right under the Abandoned Shrine.
At the end of the pool, there’ll be a locked gate that can only be opened with the Rusk Work Key that you’ve acquired from beside the Abandoned Shrine earlier.
Open the gate you will find the barrier Along with an Oculus of course.
5. How to Destroy the Barrier?
Upon reaching the shrine to find the barrier, you will find 5 lanterns surrounding a wooden shrine emblem. You need to arrange the lanterns in a specific order to solve the puzzle.
Follow this pattern to solve the puzzle.
All you need to do is arrange the lanterns in the right pattern and pray at the lantern to finally engage the Mysterious Samurai.
Not a hard battle considering the length of the quest. Win the battle and the quest is done.
That’s about everything you can know on how to find the barrier in Genshin Impact. And despite the time-consuming Sacrificial Offering quest, it is plentifully rewarding.
