Step 1: Collect 1x Bone

Bone is the main item drop from Skeleton mob and its variant. You must wait for the night to come and skeletons will spawn all around the world, both underground and on the ground.

For now, only 4 mobs in Minecraft can drop Bone on death. Skeletons, wither skeletons, skeleton horses, and strays drop 0-2 bones. This number can be increased to 5 if you have a Looting III enchantment weapon.

You can also find Bones in looted chests in some Minecraft structures like Dungeons, Desert Temples, Jungle Temples, Woodland Mansions, and even Ancient Cities. They have a medium chance to contain 1-15x Bones.

This percentage can be affected with Looting enchantment as well, bringing 2-8x Bones for each fish killed. Alternatively, you can find Bone by fishing. Each cast has a 1.1% chance to give you 1x Bone.

Wolves in Minecraft spawn in a pack of four, which means if you ever find a lone wolf spawn in nature, there is a high chance you can find the other three near it.

There is a 10% chance for a wolf to be spawned as a puppy instead.

You can find wolves spawn naturally in forest, grove, taiga, and their variant biomes. The exclusive list of the biome that wolves in Minecraft can spawn in is Forest, Snowy Taiga, Grove, Taiga, Old Growth Taiga, and Old Growth Pine Taiga.

Since wolves are neutral mobs in Minecraft, attacking them will make them go into angered mode and they will start attacking you, even in a group. Instead, remember to only use right-click function when interacting with wolves.

Then, choose the Bone item in your inventory and place it in any of your hot bars. Next, press the corresponding hotkey to choose the bone in your hot bar. Finally, right-click on the wolf to tame it.

Each bone will have a 33.33% chance of successfully taming a wolf. When it’s tamed, you are no longer feeding bone to it and the tamed wolf will have a red collar around its neck.

You can also right-click on a tamed wolf to make it sit. This is to prevent the wolf from wandering around or following you.
