With the sheer size and scale of the maps in Battlestate Games’ multiplayer first-person shooter Escape from Tarkov, it can be quite easy to find yourself lost and missing in action, especially if you’re a new player.
For this reason, keeping some sort of 3rd party map alongside you becomes essential. It is precisely for this reason that we’ve constructed this handy-dandy guide highlighting all of the maps released for Escape From Tarkov thus far, and providing you with tips for traversing them.

1. Customs Map
Customs is the second map that was released for the game and is regarded as one of the easiest outdoor locations to navigate. Its usual raid time limit is 25 minutes with a 9-12 PMC limit. If you were bolting through the map in a straight line it should take you 6-8 minutes to go from one end to the other.

- The Factory
- Substation
- The Dorms
Primary Extraction Locations

2. Interchange Map
The Interchange was the fifth location released for the game. It has a raid time limit of just 45 minutes with a PMC limit of 10 to 14.
The best tip for traversing through Interchange would be that if you ever get lost, you can just follow along the edges of the map to get you to an extraction location.
Landmarks for Orientation
There are also three anchor stores next to the mall. These include “IDEA,” “OLI,” and “Goshan.” Some other important landmarks include the following:
- The North Sign
- The South Sign
- Emercom Powerstation

3. Factory Map
The Factory map is a much smaller map in comparison to the others. The Day time limit for this raid is 20 minutes and a Nighttime limit of 25 minutes. Only about 5-6 PMCs can spawn into this map at any given point in time.
This is one of the best maps for anyone who enjoys the Player versus Player element of Escape from Tarkov. One navigational tip would be that the Forklift is perhaps the most dangerous spawn point on this map.
Landmarks for Orientation

- Glass Hallway
- Tin Can
- Helicopter
Primary Extraction Locations

4. Woods Map
The woods was the third location to be added to the game. It has a raid time limit of 40 minutes and a PMC limit of 9 to 14 players.
One tip to navigate this map is that if you were standing on the docks of the logging camp looking out towards the lake that would be considered North.

Shoreline is one of the largest maps in Escape From Tarkov and is incredibly dangerous, especially if one ignores the warning signs and ends up in a minefield getting their legs blasted off.
The raid time limit for the shoreline is 50 mins and the PMC limit is 10 to 13. A tip though: stay clear of the Gas Station as a newbie. Far too many players are enjoying camping in that area for some quick kills.

7. The Lab Map
The best thing about the map called The Labs is that it has perhaps the best per-raid loot potential compared to any other raid in Escape From Tarkov. Nonetheless, cunning players and tanky raiders abound, and traversing this map will be a challenge. It has a raid time limit of 40 minutes and a PMC limit of 6 to 10 players.
Landmarks for Orientation
The major landmark for this area is the color coating of the rooms on the map itself. With that being Red, yellow, blue, orange, and green rooms that differentiate and orient players.

- Main Elevator – Basement
- Sewage Conduit (Easiest)
- Hangar Gate – Blue section
- Parking Gate – Yellow Section

8. Lighthouse Map
For a location called the Lighthouse, this map in Escape from Tarko is surprisingly small and far more manageable for new players. It has a raid time limit of 40 minutes and a PMC time limit of 9 to 12 players.
If you do not want your legs to become barbeque it’s best to stay away from the minefields around the water treatment plant and stay on the road for this map.
