Best Animal Crossing Yard Ideas
1. Farmyard
Having a slightly unkempt farmyard gives a rustic charm to your villager’s home. @Floow_gaming on Twitter shows that you can do this with a few creatively placed items.
Use Log Fences to corral the garden, put some randomly placed Wheat Fields around the house, and include a Leaf Pile to give the illusion of swept leaves and grass from your garden. Windmills turning at the back give a nice peaceful scenery.
To expand your villager’s house and make it look like it has a porch, put some Storefronts around the house.
You can even add a washing area with a Clothesline, an Old-Fashioned WashTub, and a Bathtub with Yuzu, as well as a napping area with a Rocking Chair.

2. Gloomy Manor
If spooky aesthetics is your thing, take a gander at @kosiroogames and their house yard idea.
Make your yard and house look like an ominous manor on a dark and stormy night with the use of Fences, Jail Bars, and Pillars.
Add some overgrown weeds, a few vines, a Giant Vine, and a spooky Simple Well. Your yard can be guarded by a Plate Armor as well.
This can also work if you have a small yard idea. Just make the scope smaller by removing some of the fences, but keep the ambiance by having the vines and pillars.
3. Shared Yard
It’s nice to share, and Twitter user @n____mori shows that two villagers sharing a yard is absolutely cute!
The yard is fenced with Vertical Board Fences, with randomly placed green Wheat Fields to look like grass.
There is also a shared lounge area in between, with Log Chairs under trees, Evergreen Ash in the middle of the houses, and a Plain Party Lights Arch to illuminate the area.
4. Medieval Building Fence
Instead of using the usual fences in the game, Twitter user @isleofaugust uses Medieval Buildings instead!
It upgrades the look of your villager’s house and yards into something grander. You can also add Plant Partitions in front to make it look like your yard has plant boxes.
To go with this, use cobblestone custom paths and make beautifully terraformed waterfalls. Add a small garden to your yard, with a Veggie Basket and a placed Shovel and Watering Can as additional details.
This particular path is made by @garuyome_acnh on Twitter, meanwhile, the Plant Partition and Medieval Building combo was inspired by @starrrr_0617’s design.
5. Villager-Themed Yard
Brainstorming for yard guides and house ideas for outside can be brain draining. However, @tropikitch on Twitter suggests a good trick. Why not come up with yard ideas based on your villager’s theme?
For Apple the hamster, you can turn her yard into an apple-themed garden! Surround her house with apple trees and freshly picked apples, as well as Cushions with apple prints on them.
Add Log Benches and a Log Dining Table for outdoor dining, and have Apple Pies and Apple Jams as food.
This idea works for other villagers too. For Lucky the mummy dog, he can have a small graveyard. Tia the teapot Elephant can have a tea party setting as her yard. Peppy villagers can have their own mini-stage in their backyard!
Conclusion
Coming up with different yard ideas for villagers can get overwhelming. Hopefully, these 5 best Animal Crossing yard ideas have helped you come up with your own creative yard ideas.
