15 Best Animal Crossing: New Horizons Campsite Ideas
15. Tarzan Campsite
If your favorite Disney animated movie is Tarzan, you might enjoy our first entry. This Campsite idea comes from Reddit user u/Humoroso, and they cleverly recreated the campsite in Tarzan!
They used Bamboo Partitions as fences, planted Bamboo Trees around the area, and added random knick-knacks and thingamajigs to mimic Professor Archimedes Porter’s science gadgets. They even dressed up as the professor!
14. Picnic Area
No Campsite is complete without a picnic area. Since the game doesn’t allow any rugs to be placed outside houses, Animal Crossing players have been creative with what they can use for blankets – especially picnic blankets.
With Custom Design codes, you can place rugs and blankets on the ground! And if you want to lie down and take a nap on your picnic blanket, customize a Beach Towel and put it on top of your blanket.
Make sure both have the same design so it will at least look seamless when placed together.
Add a Picnic Basket and a Cutting Board to your picnic set up, as well as any kind of food you want to eat during your picnic.
13. Camper Van
Make it look like your Campsite has a camper van with this idea! The van is actually made up of multiple customized Face Cutout Standees placed together.
Placing some chairs behind the standees will make it look like you’re riding the van too. Get this camper van campsite design code from zara_crossing on Instagram.
12. Bamboo Campsite
Meditating while being one with nature through camping is an experience a lot of people hold dear.
Make your Campsite the zen place to be with this bamboo campsite idea. Surround the area with Bamboo Trees and add Zen Fences.
Add an Outdoor Bath and other bamboo-related items like Bamboo Shoot Lamps, Bamboo Candle Holder, and a Deer Scare.
If space is a problem on your island, this idea works for small Campsite sizes as well.
11. Conversation Pit
Make your camping area the talk of the town by adding a conversation pit at the center! The Campsite location idea for this works if you place the tent on the second level of your island, and then terraform a big hole in the ground.
Decorate the pit with Bonfire, Log Chairs, and Cushions. Custom Design can be used to place rugs and tiles on the ground. Add a few Kids’ Tents in the area to make it look like a big camping group.
10. Spiral Campsite
A lot of players are often stumped on Campsite location ideas. This Campsite idea from Reddit shows that you can get really creative with your tent placement.
With a bit of terraforming, you can mimic the spiral river island from Mystery Island tours and place your Campsite at the center. It feels like an adventure just getting there! This is all thanks to the adventurer u/LaisyDucky on Reddit.
09. Campsite Sign and More Tents
You can turn a huge portion of your island into Camp New Horizons by adding a proper Campsite Sign and a few more tents.
This Campsite Sign is redeemable from Nook Shopping Promotion if you link your Pocket Camp account to the game. Additional tents you can use are Kids’ Tents, which can be customized into eight different colors and designs.
08. Vines and Moss
Camping deep in the woods can be a bit dangerous and spooky, but at least we can easily and safely do that in Animal Crossing!
This idea from @tomato_07_27 on Twitter adds numerous vines, Giant Vines, Ruined Decorative Pillars, Glowing Moss, and Glowing Moss Balloons to make the Campsite look eerie and mysterious. The glowing effect looks really cool at night too.
07. Corralled Campsite
Whether you have a big or small Campsite size, adding fences to corral the site makes the camping area look cozy. Reddit user u/brusheswithdarkness uses Lattice Fences to enclose their camping area.
The wooden outdoor flooring works well with other wood elements in the design, like the Log Extra Long Sofas, Bamboo Stool, Cypress Bathtub, and wooden Zen Bridge. The Wedding Candle Set, Yucca pots, and Garden Rocks accentuate the feel of the place.
The wooden outdoor flooring is a Custom Design by ren04at, meanwhile, the forest path is made by tobimorieko. The rest of the Campsite design codes are in the Reddit post.
06. Fairycore Campsite
If camping in a magical and fairy-filled forest is your cup of sparkly tea, try doing what Reddit user u/eowyn1990 did to their Campsite!
Glowing Mush Lamps can completely change the ambiance of the place, and adding circular log paths makes it more rustic.
For additional decorations, you can use mushroom-themed items like Super Mushroom, Mushroom Platforms, Mush Log, Mush Low Stool, Mush Parasol, and Mush Table. Cute, magical, and mushy!
05. Campsite Lounge and Dining Area
You can lavishly welcome your Campsite visitor by adding a homey lounge space and a rustic dining area.
Reddit user u/asdfghjumiii uses @deteiu_box’s wooden flooring as the base for the lounge, with customized Cushions and a Swinging Bench to rest on, and Paper Lanterns and a Glass Holder with Candle for ambiance.
The center table is a Rattan Low Table that has a Succulent Plant on it.
The dining area uses a Log Dining Table with customized placemats and Log Benches. A Clay Furnace and Smoker are placed for cooking, with an Infused Water Dispenser, Coffee Cups, and Mugs for refreshments.
Other items in the dining area are Ukulele, Picnic Basket, and Cream and Sugar.
04. Treehouse Campsite
One way to make your Campsite stand out from the rest is to turn it into a treehouse! @nooksisle cleverly and creatively executes this idea by placing the tent on top of a terraformed mound.
They then surround it with Bamboo Partitions and Loft Beds, as well Bamboo Trees, Coconut Trees, and Regular Trees. The combination creates a treehouse look!
This Campsite idea looks pretty amazing but is actually very doable for newbies. The terraforming aspect isn’t actually complicated and you just have to buy multiple copies of certain items.
03. Festive Campsite
The Festivale event brings festive items that you can use for your Campsite. These special event items can be customized, so their colors can match your Campsite’s garland.
Decorate the area with Festivale Parasols, Festivale Lamps, a Festivale Balloon Lamp, and a Festivale Stage with Floor Lights and Festivale Drum. The Festivale Garland matches well with the Campsite garland!
These items are available during the Festivale event every February. You collect feathers and trade it with Pave, the peacock NPC in charge of the event.
Your Nook’s Cranny will also sell Festivale items during the duration of the event.
02. Stargazing and Camping
Camping and stargazing go well together, and siren.isle.crossing demonstrates this with their Campsite idea.
To do this, place a Telescope and some Books or Stack of Books together. You can customize your Stack of Books to make it look old or turn it into reference books.
The checkered green blanket, Log Chairs, Log Benches, Mush Log, Leaf Campfire, and Pile of Zen Cushions also add to the coziness of your little stargazing camp.
The design code for the blanket is provided in sire.isle.crossing’s Instagram profile. And if you want your Leaf Campfire to have roasted marshmallows on it, let Cyrus customize it!
01. Camping by the Lake
If you really want your Campsite to look isolated and far from society, do what Twitter user @abiacnh did! With a little land and water terraforming, they made a huge lake with a small island at the center.
The trees, bushes, and tree stumps make the Campsite look cozily secluded in nature.
Additional items from this build include a Mountain Bike, some Country Fences, a Destination Signpost, and a Wooden Stool with a Lost Item on it.
This Campsite build doesn’t look too complicated and the items are not difficult to obtain, so even beginners and terraforming rookies can do this. Kudos to @abiacnh for sharing this incredibly creative idea!
