If you are in the mood to take down hoards of zombies with your friends then Back 4 Blood crossplay is the perfect game for you. After Turtle Rock hit the right notes with Left 4 Dead, they tried to turn on the heat with Back 4 Blood.
And believe me, they have done a fabulous job. With crossplay options and great DLCs, this co-op zombie shooter is one game you simply can’t ignore.
In this post, we will walk you through how to turn on crossplay and invite friends for your missions. Read on!
How To Turn On Crossplay In Back 4 Blood
Back 4 Blood Crossplay is the real deal. It allows cross-generation play and not just crossplay. For the uninitiated, that means you can play Back 4 Blood with your friends irrespective of which platform they are on.
Don’t get me wrong, you can vent out on the zombies single-handedly but Back 4 Blood is meant to be enjoyed with your friends.
If you have it on a Windows PC, you can still invite friends who are playing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, or Series X.
But how to turn the crossplay on?
Well, by default Back 4 Blood comes with crossplay enabled. But just in case you sat on your controller and messed up the settings, here’s how to enable Back 4 Blood crossplay.
The crossplay option isn’t available in the default menu.
Instead, you need to open the Play Menu in Fort Hope and click on Preferences.
Here you’ll find the cross-play option. You can toggle it on and off from here.
And that’s about it. Once turned on you can invite friends for a zombie-chomping marathon.
Alternatively, you will also receive a notification when any of your friends want you to join their gameplay.
How To Invite Friends For Back 4 Blood Crossplay
The cool thing is, Back 4 Blood Beta Crossplay features were pushed into their final release.
So the feature is well tested and won’t disappoint you. But when you try to add a friend for the first time things can be a bit tricky.
When you launch the game a username is assigned to you (or you can come up with your own) along with a cross-platform ID (a few digits suffixed to your username) that is used to identify your platform and version.
You need to ask your friend to share their unique Back 4 Blood crossplay ID.
After launching the game, visit Fort Hope and launch the Social section from the menu. Click on the Add Friend icon and type in their unique user ID to send a request.
You can see the status of your sent request in the adjacent tab. Once your friend accepts the request, you can create a party and start making a bloody mess of those zombies.
Next time you want to crossplay, your previously invited friends will show up in the list and you can directly send them invites with ease.
