Wither is by far the strongest mob in Minecraft and it’s categorized as a boss mob. To fight one, you need to prepare your gears and the materials required to spawn it.
So how to make a Wither in Minecraft?
What You Need to Make a Wither In Minecraft
- 4x Soul Sand/Soul Soil
- 3x Wither Skeleton Skull
How to Make a Wither in Minecraft
Before you start making the Wither, just make sure you know a good place to spawn it since the Wither can blow up surrounding blocks.
It works just like an explosion from a creeper, but with a bigger range and can happen multiple times.
To find a Wither, it’s recommended to prepare at least some proper armors with explosion and protection enchantments.
Some buckets of milk are also useful to remove the wither effect, and some golden apples to quickly regen your health.
After you’ve done everything, let’s find the materials to spawn the Wither in Minecraft as below!
Step 1: Collect 4x Soul Sand/Soul Soil
You can only find Soul Sand or Soul Soil in the Nether dimension. They have a common rarity and you can find them pretty much anywhere. But the best biomes to find Soul Sand and Soul Soil are nether wastes and soul sand valleys.
You can also find some Soul Sand spawn naturally in Nether Fortresses and Bastion Remnants. But be careful since those places are dangerous!
If you find any chests in the Bastion Remnants, make sure to check them since they have a 22.8% chance to contain 2-7x Soul Sand.
Additionally, you can trade 1x Gold Ingot with the Piglins for 2-8x Soul Sand.
Step 2: Collect 3x Wither Skeleton Skull
You will also need to enter the Nether dimension to find Wither Skeleton Skull.
They are a black variant of a normal skeleton mob in Minecraft that carry a sword instead of a bow. And they can be spawned in the Nether Fortress biome.
Each wither skeleton has a 2.5% chance to drop 1x Wither Skeleton Skull, and up to 5.5% chance if you have a Looting III enchanted sword.
Step 3: Finish off Making a Wither
When you have all the materials, place 4x Soul Sand or Soul Soil in the short T shape. Make sure there isn’t any block like grass and flower on either downside of the T.
Then you can manually place 3x Wither Skeleton Skull on the top 3x Soul Sand block.
When you finish placing the final skull, the Wither will be spawned immediately and start charging its power.
You can also spawn the Wither using the same construction in any direction like horizontal or upside-down.
The result will be the same since the Wither will spawn on top of the very bottom block, so make sure to do it right if you’re going to make a Bedrock trap to farm Withers.
