Readying the Materials
You don’t need much to make a campfire. In fact, you can start gathering the ingredients as soon as you have a pickaxe.

The first thing you should do is get 3 blocks of Wood. You probably already own a bit in your inventory, but if not, just punch the nearest tree until it drops some. Any other wood source, like a Log or Stem, will also do the job.
Coal Ore is a very common resource found all throughout the Minecraft world. It’s usually found 4–15 levels below the surface or about 30 seconds of digging.
Wither Skeletons also have a 33.33% chance of dropping coal on death. You can also use Charcoal in place of Coal Ore. Charcoal is obtained by smelting any log or woodblock.
