Have you just started playing Minecraft and are wondering how to make a crafting table in Minecraft? This post is for you!
Crafting Table is the early game utility block that can help you with any crafting recipes that require more than five items.
We can say that the Crafting Table is the first-ever block every player crafts after creating the world and it’s necessary to progress further into the game. And that’s why we’ve decided to show you how to make a crafting table in Minecraft.
What You Need to Craft Crafting Table
- 4x Planks of any Wood Type
How to Make a Crafting Table in Minecraft
Step 1: Find any Tree
Trees are a common plant in Minecraft that can be generated naturally when the world is created. Currently, there are 8 different types: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, crimson stem, and warped stem.
There will be one more new type which is the Mangrove tree in the new 1.19 update.
You can find trees everywhere. Each tree type can only grow in specific biomes. For example, Spruce can only grow in taiga and snowy biomes, while Jungle trees can only grow in the Jungle biome. The most common trees are Oak.
When you’ve found a tree, just walk near it and hold left click on its log to break them. It will drop 1x Log of that wood type for every block you break.
Step 2: Collect 4x Planks
When you have collected the Log above, press E to open your inventory and put the Log in the crafting grid to craft 4x Planks. The type of Planks will completely depend on the type of Log you used before.
Planks can also be generated naturally in most Minecraft structures like Mineshafts, Villages, Strongholds, Woodland Mansions, Shipwrecks, Swamp Huts, Underwater Ruins, and Pillager Outposts.
Just make sure you have good gear before collecting Planks in these places since they’re all dangerous.
Alternatively, the bonus chest will have a 70.5% chance to contain 1-12 Oak Planks. But remember to turn on this option when you first create the world so the chest can spawn.
Step 3: Finish off Crafting a Crafting Table
When you have 4x Planks, press E to open your inventory GUI and put them in the crafting grid in a 2×2 shape to craft 1x Crafting Table.
Then move the Crafting Table to the hot bar.
Press ESC or E again to exit the inventory GUI. Select the hotkey representing the hot bar slot you’ve placed your Crafting Table in.
Then just right-click on any blocks to place the Crafting Table down.
Now you’re good to craft other recipes! Remember you can always break the Crafting Table and bring it along with you in case you want to go for an adventure. You can use any tool to break it, including your hand.
And there it is! A comprehensive lesson on how to make a crafting table in Minecraft. Happy crafting!
