Many of you may be fooled into thinking Sucrose is just a healer in Genshin Impact thanks to her nurse-like aesthetic. But actually, she’s a powerful character with a lot of utility for most team comps.
Today, we’ll go over everything there is to know about Sucrose in Genshin Impact from her playstyle, move-set, to builds, and the best way to optimize Sucrose’s performance.
To start things off, let’s check out the ideal playstyle and what her Talents can do.
Sucrose Talents & Playstyle
Sucrose is a powerful Support character that can be a catalyst for major Elemental Reaction damage team buffs. She has a passive skill that increases all party members’ Elemental Mastery by 50 and 20% of Sucrose’s total.
This results in utter devastation on the battlefield with Swirl reactions and Anemo DMG. Sucrose uses the Catalyst weapon type and has Anemo Elemental Affinity.
On our Genshin Impact Tier List, she’s ranked in the S-Tier, meaning she’s high up in the power rankings as one of the Best Supports in the game.
Normal & Charged Attack – Wind Spirit Creation
Sucrose’s Normal Attack can go up to a 4-hit combo, unleashing Wind Spirits that deal Anemo Damage.
Holding her Charged Attack drains a portion of stamina while charging a strong Anemo DMG shot that can launch back weaker mobs and enemies.
Elemental Skill – Astable Anemohypostasis Creation – 6308
Her Skill summons an Anemo Spirit that both inflicts Anemo Damage and pulls enemies towards the center of the cast location. This also launches smaller enemies upwards with a Gust of Wind.
Elemental Burst – Forbidden Creation – Isomer 75 / Type II
Sucrose’s Burst functions very similarly to her Skill but is a supersized version of it.
She throws an unstable concoction that conjures a larger Wind Spirit that continuously pulls and launches enemies. This attack deals Anemo Damage.
The Elemental Burst also has Elemental Absorption so if Hydro/Cryo/Pyro/Electro Elements are active within the AoE, this multiplies damage with the Element type it comes in contact with.
This is where Sucrose’s Elemental Mastery buff comes into play and can cause massive damage with Elemental Reactions.
Since the buff is triggered by activating either Elemental Skill or Burst, it’s easy enough to cause significant damage considering the large AoE and duration.
Sucrose Genshin Impact Build
Sucrose is predominantly a Support character but she can also Sub-DPS if needed. I wouldn’t recommend it though, since her Support role is highly regarded.
We’ll focus on Support builds to maximize this aspect.
Her main build revolves around increasing Anemo DMG Bonus, Elemental Mastery, and Swirl Damage. For sub-stats, you can opt to increase Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge.
Priority should be for Elemental Mastery though, to take advantage of her passive Elemental Mastery buffs.
Primary Weapon Choice – Sacrificial Fragments
Sacrificial Fragments is an ideal weapon for Sucrose as it allows her to spam her Elemental Skills faster and easier.
The weapon has a +48 Elemental Mastery Bonus Effect which is great on its own.
The weapon’s Skill allows Sucrose a 40% likelihood to completely recharge the Elemental Skill. This can occur only once every 30 seconds and is procced by hitting enemies with her Elemental Skill.
What this results in is Sucrose spamming her Elemental Skill faster, further increasing her damage output. And since Elemental Skill hits activate the 20% buff of Elemental Mastery, you can support buff your team more often.
All in all, the weapon will increase what Sucrose was already adept at.
To optimize her build, you should focus on weapons like Sacrificial Fragments which increase Elemental Mastery and center around Elemental Reaction damage.
If you were missing the weapon though, here are some great alternatives.
Substitute Weapons
- Skyward Atlas – +12% Elemental DMG Bonus. Landing a Normal Attack on enemies have a 50% chance to conjure an additional auto-target attack on nearby enemies that lasts 15 seconds and deals 160% ATK damage.
- Mappa Mare – +24% ATK for 10 seconds. Activated when switching out characters. Can last for 20 seconds.
- Favonius Codex – +8% Elemental Damage Bonus for 10 seconds after triggering Elemental Reaction. x2 stacks maximum.
Sucrose Artifact Build
Sucrose’s Artifact build should focus on increasing Anemo Damage, Elemental Mastery, or Swirl damage. Sub-stats will mostly be Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge.
- Viridescent Venerer – +15% Anemo Damage Bonus / +60% Swirl Damage. Enemy Elemental Res -40% to Element infused from Swirl. Lasts 10 seconds.
- Wanderer’s Troupe – +80 Elemental Mastery / Charged ATK damage +35% if the user has a Bow or Catalyst Weapon Type,
- Instructor – +80 Elemental Mastery / Increase Party Elemental Mastery +120 for 8 seconds. Activated by Elemental Reactions proc.
For Sucrose, the most ideal Artifact set would be a 4-piece Viridescent Venerer.
It substantially increases Anemo Damage and Swirl Damage. This set also lowers the enemy’s Elemental Resistance to the Element that caused Swirl by 40% which sets up huge damage from reactions.
Combining everything we’ve already discussed so far, Sucrose will be a force to be reckoned with.
The only downside is to fully take advantage of her Talents, you’ll need to constantly switch in and out of your team, focusing on Elemental Reaction chains.
