Klee in Genshin Impact might seem like a cutesy benchwarmer when she’s a powerful mage that can quickly decimate foes. Don’t let her small stature fool you, she packs quite the punch.
And today, we’re showing you everything there is to know about Klee in Genshin Impact from her Talents & playstyle, to the best builds, how to get Klee, and even Klee’s age in Genshin Impact.
Let’s get started with her Talent sheet.
Talents & Playstyle
Unlike her character design, Klee is an ultra-powerful mage who can cause massive amounts of AoE Pyro Damage. She’s suited to being the damage dealer in your team and can serve the Main DPS/Sub-DPS roles well.
But according to her kit, she’s most optimized to be the Main DPS in your team.
She’s a Catalyst weapon user and comes with Pyro Elemental affinity. On our Genshin Impact Tier List, Klee is ranked in the A-Tier which means she’s a powerful character but has some major downsides.
Normal & Charged Attack – Kaboom!
Klee’s Normal Attack, Kaboom!, throws up to 3 bombs causing explosions and AoE Pyro damage.
Holding her Charged Attack concentrates the explosion, draining a portion of her stamina and unleashing an AoE Pyro Damage attack.
The great thing about Klee’s Charged Attack is it can mine ores in one hit. This is great for Exploration and can substitute a missing Claymore user.
Elemental Skill – Jumpy Dumpty
Her Elemental Skill, Jumpy Dumpty, throws a cute bomb that bounces up to 3 times, which deals AoE Pyro Damage. This happens for each bounce Jumpy Dumpty makes.
After the 3rd bounce, mines are dropped in place of Jumpy Dumpty at the point of impact.
The mines deal AoE Pyro Damage when its duration ends, or if an enemy walks into the mine’s radius.
Check the GIF above.
Elemental Burst – Sparks ‘n’ Splash
Klee’s Elemental Burst, Sparks ‘n’ Splash, conjures auto-target, AoE Pyro Damage dealing, Sparks ‘n’ Splash. She constantly conjures them during the 10-second duration and can target multiple enemies at once or focus attack one enemy.
Sparks ‘n’ Splash has a large range and can attack enemies regardless of height/size.
The downside is she needs to be on the field for the Burst to remain active. Switching her out will end the Burst and stop Sparks ‘n’ Splash summoning.
Every skill on Klee’s Talent sheet allows her to deal Pyro Damage. In almost every case, it’s AoE Pyro Damage which is potent for causing Elemental Reactions and massive damage output.
But the problem with Klee is since her skills are very reliant on being on the field, you need to keep her on constantly. She’s a ‘selfish’ DPS which can be a problem to some team comps.
This limits flexibility with team damage and will rely on her most of the time.
Another big issue with her is the time it takes to attack with her Normal & Charged Attacks.
The animations for both these attacks take far too long and leave her vulnerable while attacking. As such, you’ll need to play her with animation cancels, by jumping/dashing as you attack for swift damage.
Klee also has very low Max HP which makes her an easy target. This means it’s easy to knock her out, so you’ll need to manage her by healing, shielding, or dodging attacks constantly.
These important factors make it hard for Klee to be considered among the best of the best, S+ Tier characters. But if you can get around it, Klee is a wonderful addition to the team, annihilating anything in her way.
Klee Genshin Impact Build
Klee is a damage dealer and can play as either a Main DPS or Sub-DPS. But with the nature of her Talents and playstyle, it’s best to build her in the Main DPS role. For her build you should focus on increasing Pyro Damage, Elemental Mastery, and ATK%.
The best-case scenario here is increasing any and everything related to her Pyro Damage Output, be it from reactions or raw damage.
Primary Weapon Choice – Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is perhaps the optimal weapon to bring out the best in Klee’s abilities. For the bonus effect, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds increases Crit Rate +7.2%.
The weapon’s main skill, Boundless Blessing, improves base movement speed by +10%.
Boundless Blessing also grants a substantial +8% Elemental Damage Bonus every four seconds. This can stack up to 4 times, totaling a +32% Elemental Damage Bonus. The effect is lost once Klee is switched out or falls.
The main reason the weapon is great for Klee is the bonus to Elemental Damage.
You can increase it up to 32% just by being on the field for more than 16 seconds. Since Klee’s performance is dependent on her staying on the field as long as possible, this works out well.
This way you can stack these bonuses passively while fighting, without switching out for Elemental Reactions or other character Skills/Burst. In turn, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds makes you deal a lot more Pyro damage.
The movement speed increase is also great for running away and avoiding damage. This helps manage her survivability slightly, making one of Klee’s weaknesses a lesser consideration.
But if you’re missing out on this weapon, check out these excellent alternatives.
Substitute Weapons
- Dodoco Tales – Hitting enemies with Normal Attacks grants +16% Charged Attack DMG for six seconds. Hitting enemies with Charged Attacks grants +8% ATK for six seconds.
- The Widsith – Active character receives a randomized song lasting ten seconds and can activate once every 30 seconds.
- Interlude – +240 Elemental Mastery.
- Recitative – +60% ATK.
- Aria – +48% All Elemental Damage
- Skyward Atlas – +12% Elemental DMG Bonus. 50% chance to harness favor of the clouds when hitting enemies with Normal Attack. Summons ‘wind’ to attack in-range enemies with 160% ATK as damage for 15 seconds. Usable once every 30 seconds.
Artifact Build
Klee’s Artifact build should focus on increasing Pyro Damage, Elemental Mastery, or ATK%. For sub-stats, you can increase Elemental Mastery, Crits (Rate/DMG), or ATK%.
- Crimson Witch of Flames – (2-Piece Set) +15% Pyro Damage Bonus / (4-Piece Set) +15% Melt/Vaporize damage. +40% Burning/Overloaded Damage. +50% 2-Piece set bonus for 10 seconds after Elemental Skill Cast. 3x Max stacks.
- Wanderer’s Troupe – (2-Piece Set) +80 Elemental Mastery / (4-Piece Set) +35% Charged Attack Damage for Bow/Catalyst users.
- Resolution of Sojouner – (2-Piece Set) +18% Attack / (4-Piece Set) +30% Charged Attack Critical Rate.
The best Artifact for Klee is the full 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames set. The damage increase to all of Klee’s skills is substantial for both standalone damage and Elemental Reactions.
With this set, you can take advantage of increases to every Talent Klee has to offer. The additional damage modifiers from Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds weapon and Crimson Witch of Flames artifact, will ensure consistent and massive Pyro damage.
