There aren’t too many good MMA video games out there. And it’s safe to say that EA’s UFC series has been the torch bearer. The first UFC game came out in 2014. And now, we’re up to UFC 4, the best and the biggest yet.
EA isn’t big on inclusivity; PC users still can’t get any EA UFC series game, which is plain sad.
So, when EA announced UFC 4, people got their hopes up for 2 things; a PC release and cross platform support. Looking at other EA titles, the PC release seemed more of a possibility than cross platform support.
But did EA have a change of heart? Is UFC 4 cross-platform in 2022?

Is UFC 4 Cross Platform?
UFC 4 was released in August 2020, only for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
So, it’s evident that EA paid no heed to fan demand. UFC 4 is not cross platform, nor did it get a PC release.
At least we get an FPS boost to enjoy UFC 4 on Xbox Series S/X and PS5. However, UFC 4 did not get a separate version for new-gen consoles. It runs because of backward compatibility. So you might see some features missing on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.
Now, the hopes of cross playing a UFC game rest with EA’s UFC 5. And if the rumors are true, we might get UFC 5 by the end of 2023. EA’s track record isn’t the best, but FIFA 22 crossplay has our hopes up for UFC 5 too.
Now that you know that UFC 4 is not cross-platform, we’ve got some more bad news for you.
Is UFC 4 Cross Generation?
UFC 4 is not cross-generation. So, if you want to play UFC 4 with your friends, you’ll not only need to be on the same console family but also the same generation.
PS4 players are stuck with PS4 players. Xbox One players can only fight other Xbox One users. And the same goes for the new generation consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.

Is UFC 4 Cross Progression?
It’s common for games to allow players to take their progress along when they upgrade consoles or change platforms. However, in UFC 4’s case, you’ll lose all the progress because UFC 4 does not have cross-progression, a.k.a cross-save.
UFC 4 does not have cross-platform gameplay, cross-generation gameplay, and does not support cross-progression. A grand total of 0/3 cross-context score. All we can do is hope UFC 5 gets at least cross-platform.
