A Genshin Impact leak suggests that HoYoverse might be considering introducing the game’s first Cryo catalyst user to the roster.
The game offers seven distinct elements, with Dendro being the latest addition. When combined, these elements enable various elemental reactions that deliver myriad effects.
Diverse Arsenal in Genshin Impact
Characters in Genshin Impact can utilize five distinct weapon types: sword, claymore, polearm, bow, and catalyst. Each weapon type possesses its unique pros and cons.
For instance, bows and catalysts enable players to maintain a safe distance from foes, whereas claymores, with their heavy attacks, can shatter specific shield types.
New Character Teaser
Renowned Genshin Impact leaker, merlin_impact, has divulged more details about an upcoming character, Charlotte. She made a cameo in the recent Special Program event, confirming her participation in the forthcoming quest line in Genshin Impact version 3.7.
Although the live stream did not officially verify Charlotte’s element, the fan community speculated she could either be a Cryo or Anemo character, based on her Vision’s color.
The fresh leak suggests that Charlotte would be a Cryo Catalyst user — a first for this element and weapon-type combination.
Potential Game Changer
Many fans believe that HoYoverse’s reluctance to introduce this combination is due to catalysts’ ability to inflict elemental damage with Normal Attacks.
This could potentially make the Frozen elemental reaction one of the most potent in the game. Players could simply deploy an AoE Hydro effect — like Mona’s Mirror Reflection of Doom — before executing damage with Charlotte’s Normal Attacks.
According to early leaks about Charlotte, she isn’t expected to grace the roster until Fontaine’s arrival in version 3.8.
The livestream confirmed her absence from the imminent Genshin Impact update 3.7, which will feature a new character — the Dendro user Kirara.
Charlotte’s four-star character status implies that the two banner cycles will showcase four different five-star characters on the limited banners.
The first segment of the update will spotlight the Electro user Yoimiya and the Pyro bow DPS Yoimiya, while the second banner is allocated for Alhaitham and Kazuha.
Given that both Yae and Yoimiya hail from the Inazuma region, it suggests that the main storyline might revisit the Electro nation.
Hopefully, the sibling duo Lyney and Lynette will come sooner this year!
