Friday Night Funkin is a lot more fun than other games because it is easy to relate with the characters. Sometimes I kind of feel like these Friday Night Funkin characters is real with great stories behind them.
And sometimes, it seems as though the more you play around with them, the more you get to understand them and appreciate why they do certain things the way they do — totally human quality if you ask me.
This is a list of some of my best Friday Night Funkin characters. I did not rank them based on how powerful they are or their talents.
My top 10 characters in Friday night funkin’ are chosen based on how totally awesome and ‘personable’ these characters are.
Best Friday Night Funkin Characters
1. Pico
Pico is one of the coolest kid characters on Friday night Funkin. I mean the kid fought and defeated an alien trying to destroy the human race all by himself. Plus he’s the only one who has ever tasted an apple amongst all the other 8 students.
I did a little background check on Pico a while back when I started liking his personality and mode of play.
Found out the Pico character has been around for a while now. Actually, pico has been in the game world since 1999. He even has a whole game built for him. How cool is that?
Tom Fulp is the original creator of Pico’s School, Pico vs Uberkids, and other games with similar names.
Pico
And then I think he is one of the most trustworthy characters I feel will have your back no matter what.
Pico is an amazing character despite having so many powers and I wish to see him more often in the game or even become a playable character soon.
2. Boyfriend
Who wouldn’t love a midget blue-haired guy with so much talent? Boyfriend has to be the most adorable character in Friday night Funkin and I think the ladies in the house would easily agree to this fact.
I think Boyfriend has one of the most humane personalities in the game. He has this tendency to always want to protect his Girlfriend regardless of the disadvantage that may put him in.
I think most ladies will find that really adorable and seeing the lengths he is willing to go to keep his relationship with his Girlfriend should be an inspiration for some guys out there.
And for the gamers out there, Boyfriend is the protagonist of Friday Night Funkin. He is a player and always goes on a quest with his Girlfriend. They are both adorably innocent and often run into dangerous situations without being aware of them.
3. Tankman
Tankman is another of my favorite characters. I love that he loves to rap! When he caught Boyfriend and his Girlfriend in the desert, instead of killing them both, he took Girlfriend hostage and challenged Boyfriend to a rap battle.
Yes, he loves to rap that much.
And then I think Tankman has some of the most hilarious lines when it comes to rap. You should hear him curse when you lost a rap battle against him — probably the most painful and still hilarious moments of the game.
And it is cool to have someone with his own army. I find that pretty cool and they seem to always want to obey him. He’s probably a great leader too.
4. Girlfriend
Girlfriend is that beautiful girl with a dark side that you should probably never have anything to do with her. She could be potentially dangerous but that is the very thing that makes her so adorable and keeps you working to keep her forever.
Girlfriend is an adorable demon. She looks and acts like a charming human lady but since both her parents are demons, she is a demon. She is also the love interest of the Boyfriend character on Friday Night Funkin.
I especially like the character of Girlfriend. I think we all love such dark fantasies of a demon and human hopelessly in love with each other — it’s why Hollywood and teens novels are filled with such romances.
The way she sits on the speaker each time there is a rap battle is totally cute. Anyways, one aspect I seem to love the most about Girlfriend is her tendency to always support her Boyfriend at every turn of the way.
She is a supportive Girlfriend just as Boyfriend is very supportive of her. That’s probably why they are so inseparable.
5. Pump
Hey, don’t blame me. Everyone loves the spooky month. Pump and Skid are best friends. They go head to head with Boyfriend in week two of the game in a rap battle and I think they have some pretty dope lines in their songs.
Skid and Pump usually team up to form the spooky kids. While they are both good at the game, I kind of love Pump for his deeper voice and ability to deliver his lines in such a classic manner — makes me almost want to give him a pat on the back for a job well done.
6. Skid
Obviously, you can like one of the spooky kids without loving the other one. Skid is Pump’s partner. Skid is often obsessed with October and his Halloween costume is totally adorable.
I love when he does the spooky dance as well and how his skeleton head seems to come alive with each step.
7. Mommy Mearest
Mommy Mearest is the mother of Girlfriend. She’s overprotective of her daughter like most mothers.
It is easy to hate on her because of her constant interference in Boyfriend and Girlfriend’s relationship. But if you are a parent, you will understand that she’s just looking out for her daughter and wants the best for her.
Because of her overprotective nature, Mommy Mearest often engages Boyfriend in rap battles, which she seems to lose a lot. But I love her voice. I almost think she sings like an angel but then she is a demon.
Some of her songs are really interesting and nowadays I often catch myself humming some of her songs while doing some casual work at home, especially the MILF song.
8. Monster
Monster is one of my best Friday night Funkin characters. He is a monster and I tend to call him the best trickster among all the other characters.
He made his first appearance in week two of the game as a bug but went mainstream in week five. On his debut, he almost tricked the spooky kids into handing Girlfriend over to him by making them think that Girlfriend is a candy! Some trickster he is.
And he’s got some of the weirdest lines that can give you the chills and nightmares if you pay some attention. He paints horrors with words as though he is an artist with paint and brush in his hands. The cursed lemon boy is probably really a monster.
9. Daddy Dearest
Initially, I disliked Daddy Dearest just as much as I did Mommy Mearest. But I seem to start understanding him the more I put myself in his place.
But sometimes I think he goes over the line to protect his daughter. He once hired Pico to kill Boyfriend since he wouldn’t leave his daughter alone.
I could only imagine how the game could have gone if he had hired Hank — one of the finest assassins from Madness Combat to kill Boyfriend instead of Pico, who had mercy on Boyfriend because of their past relationship.
Unfortunately, I also think Daddy Dearest is one of the most underrated Friday night Funkin characters. He seems too easy to beat and sometimes I just wish he’d be stronger to do all the fighting himself instead of hiring helpers.
10. Senpai
Senpai is the character most high school kids will easily love. He’s handsome and his pixelated design seems to make him the coolest character in the game.
He seems to fancy having Girlfriend as his own and wants to take her away from Boyfriend.
He rapped against Boyfriend in week 6 to try and win Girlfriend’s heart and during the second song, he seems to become very frustrated and said some mean words to Boyfriend during the rap battle.
I think he’s one of the coolest Friday Night Funkin characters as well.
Well, these are my 10 best Friday night Funkin characters. I like them for their qualities the most and I think they also have some dope lines when it comes to rap battles too.
