Great news for all Zelda enthusiasts out there! The Canadian division of Nintendo has unveiled some unique pre-order bonuses for the highly anticipated release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one of the biggest Switch releases of 2023.
These amazing freebies are part of a growing list of incentives that Nintendo uses to encourage Tears of the Kingdom pre-orders globally.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom pre-order bonuses
Although the new Zelda game comes with a price tag of $70, which sparked controversy among the fandom, Nintendo is confident that Zelda will be worth every penny just like the best games of Switch.
While pre-order bonuses typically don’t add much value to a game, they make early adopters feel like they’ve received their money’s worth.
Good news for Canadian gamers!
Nintendo has confirmed that Canadian Switch owners, who will pay CAD $89.99 for Tears of the Kingdom, will be eligible to receive a free pin set or luggage tag inspired by the next mainline installment in the long-standing Zelda series. GameStop pre-orders will receive the pin set, while anyone who pre-orders through Walmart will receive the exclusive luggage tag.
The respective retailer will provide these items for all orders placed until May 11th, or until supplies run out.
Although Nintendo hasn’t explicitly stated that these pre-order bonuses also apply to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition, which is priced at CAD $174.99 in Canada, it is most likely the case.

However, Walmart and Amazon currently list this version of the game as out of stock, and the Canadian branch of GameStop doesn’t list it at all.
Best Buy seems to be the only major retailer still accepting orders for the Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition, but it’s unclear if early purchases from this seller qualify for the newly announced bonuses. The value of the pin set and luggage tag is similar to that of the early adopter freebies announced in other parts of the world.
Additionally, they are much less unusual than the odd Tears of the Kingdom pre-order bonus of a spoon and fork offered by Amazon Japan.
The impending release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom marks the fourth significant Switch exclusive of 2023, which on that note, also includes Fire Emblem Engage in its batch.
