Back in the good old days, if you needed to do a WoW characters lookup all you had to do was use the WoW armory tool.
The armory tool was a great WoW character finder.
Sadly those days are gone.
Luckily though what Blizzard takes with one hand, it gives with the other (sometimes).
We can still use the Warcraft character search function on the official WoW site to find the key information on any player character.

WoW Characters Search Guide
Doing a WoW player search couldn’t be any easier.
Just visit this page and type the name of the character you want to find into the search bar.
When you search WoW characters you need to be very exact.
For example, if you’re trying to find WoW character Noob_Master_69, then typing in Noob_Master won’t find him.
Once you hit enter you’ll be greeted with a new page that shows every character with your searched name across every server.
In this case, we’re looking for Fabss, the name of a popular pro WoW player.
People are pretty unimaginative so you might find a lot of people with the same name.
In this case, there are 8 results.
At this point knowing the player’s server is helpful.
Below each character’s name, level and class is their server.
If you don’t know the server they play on you’ll just have to click on each entry until you find the right one.
What Info Does The WoW Character Lookup Show?
The WoW character lookup provides you with lots of useful info that can help you find the WoW character you’re after
At the top of each character page, you can see defense, combat, and mythic ratings as well as their level, guild, and class.
Below this, you can see a breakdown of what gear they’re packing.
Just below this is their stats and skills.
You can hover over an item for more information which is a nice touch.
Beyond this, there are several tabs to access their achievements, collections, dungeons/raids, PvP stats, and reputation.
All in all the page has pretty much anything you might want to know about your or another player’s character.
The only limitation the search has is in regards to inactive accounts.
If an account has been inactive for a considerable amount of time, then you’ll receive a warning that the information is out of date.
This is quite useful though. It can help you narrow down your search if you know a character’s name but not their server.

Why use WoW character lookup?
There are lots of good reasons to search WoW characters.
Firstly, looking up your own character page can be of help.
Why?
Well, each character you create in WoW contains a metric ton of information that gets saved in the WoW character database.
Most of this can be easily found in-game. But it can mean clicking through a host of different menus.
On the other hand, the character pages on the WoW site are easy to navigate.
All the information you might want is easily divided into different tabs.
Curious what your PvP stats are? There’s a tab for that.
Or say you’re out with some gamer friends and you want to flex.
They don’t believe you got that sick new loot? Use WoW character lookup and open up your character page on your phone and show them!
Or conversely, if someone you know is making bold claims that you don’t believe. Look up their character and catch them red!
Besides nursing your fragile ego, character search can be a valuable tool.
Imagine you’re out in the field and you see another player of a similar level god stomping everything while you’re struggling.
Just search for their character page to see what gear they’re packing. It’ll help you copy their loadout.
If you see someone with a cool mount or pet you’ve never seen before, you can find their character and see what it was.
Or take it one step further. Look up the top WoW players online and then search for their character pages.
It can be incredibly valuable to see what gear and strategies top-tier characters are using.
Finally, if you’re selective about who joins your guild the character search is invaluable.
You can check out all of a prospective member’s key information and stats, letting you know if they’re going to be a boon or liability in battle.
At the end of the day, the World of Warcraft character search tool is incredibly useful.
A couple of other sites offer similar functions but the WoW character finder on the official site is by far the best.
