Llama is a neutral mob that was added in the 1.11 version of Minecraft. With the purposes somewhat like the horse, Llamas can be tamed and ridden by the player.
They can also carry a chest to store additional items. However, Llamas are a little bit slower than Horses.
You can find Llamas spawn in a batch of 4 to 6 in these biomes: Windswept Hills, Windswept Forest, Windswept Gravely Hills, Savanna, Savanna Plateau, and Windswept Savanna.
So what do Llamas eat in Minecraft, and how do you tame them? Let’s find out!
What do Llamas eat in Minecraft?
Just like Horses, Llamas eat Wheat and Hay Bale. Each item will have a different effect depending on your purpose.
First of all, you can heal Llama’s health by feeding it wheat or hay bale. While wheat only heals 2 health points, hay bale can heal up to 10 points.
Those items can also be used to speed up to growth speed of Baby Llamas. Wheat speed up the growth process by 10 seconds and Hay Bale is 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Another attribute you may want to pay attention to when feeding your Llamas is the Temper point. The higher it is, the easier you can tame a Llama.
Wheat increases temper by 3 points and hay bale increases it by 6.
With that being said, you can only breed Llamas using hay bale. Right-clicking any 2 adult Llamas will activate the love mod and they will start breeding. Wheat, on the other hand, can only be used to heal, speed up the growth process, or increase temper attributes.
