Popular Twitch streamer Puppers, known for his positive presence and love for the survival game Dead by Daylight, has tragically passed away at the age of 32 after a three-year battle with motor neurone disease (MND).
Supportive Community
Upon Puppers’ diagnosis, the Dead by Daylight community rallied around him, forming the Light in the Fog Foundation to raise funds for his care.
The foundation successfully raised $270k (£216k) to support him during his illness.
Puppers, also known as Max, was known for his catchphrase “stay comfy, because if you’re comfy, you’re winning.”
The Light in the Fog Foundation paid tribute to him, saying he would be “forever in our hearts, eternally comfy.”
Battle with Motor Neurone Disease
Puppers was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the most common form of motor neurone disease, in 2020.
This progressive disease affects the nerves and muscles, causing weakness that worsens over time. While there is no cure, treatments exist to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
Announcing his passing on Twitter, a post on Puppers’ account expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout his career and the love he had for his fans.
It read, “Thank you for all of the love and support throughout his career – making you all happy is truly what he lived for.”
Community Support
During his illness, Puppers’ friends, known by their online usernames Eshleee, Sunshine, and Silver, relocated to provide care and support.
Sunshine described being his caregiver as both a challenging and joyful experience, while Silver fondly recalled their shared laughter and playing Dead by Daylight together.
Eshleee referred to Puppers as “a beacon of positivity” and acknowledged his profound impact on their lives.
The Light in the Fog Foundation organized a collaborative fundraising event involving over 150 Dead by Daylight streamers, which was further boosted by endorsements from notable online personalities like MrBeast.
Despite their tremendous efforts, the foundation now appeals to the community for additional financial assistance to cover Puppers’ funeral costs and outstanding medical expenses.

The gaming community at large has shown an outpouring of support for Puppers, praising him as a “true gaming champion” and “a kind soul we didn’t deserve.”
The developers of Dead by Daylight, who had previously honored him by including an item in the game, described him as “one of the brightest lights in The Fog,” a feature that helps players remain hidden.
