FaZe Clan’s rising star in the Smash Ultimate scene, Edgar ‘Sparg0’ Valdez, has spoken out against the spread of “misinformation” regarding the expenses of his organization’s esports division.
Recently, Rain, a prominent member of FaZe Clan, has been involved in various controversies, including a feud with Stranger Things actress Grace Van Dien and leaking her signing with FaZe.
He also made claims that FaZe Clan is losing a significant amount of money on esports, specifically mentioning that the Smash division costs the organization $25,000 per month.
Sparg0 Disputes the Claims
As the only Smash player representing FaZe Clan, Sparg0 Valdez found the claim surprising and decided to address the issue on social media.
In a tweet, the Smash Ultimate superstar denounced the spread of misinformation and requested that people refrain from discussing things that they are not certain about.
He further expressed his frustration with being attacked based on false information, stating, “Most information being spread is not true, and I’m just tired of being attacked for things that are just false.”
Sparg0’s Trip to Japan
Sparg0 also shed light on his recent trip to Japan for the Kagaribi 10 tournament, where he emerged victorious by defeating the formidable player Acola.
To fund his trip, Sparg0 had to rely on crowdfunding, gathering enough donations to cover his flights and accommodation in Tokyo.
According to Sparg0, FaZe Clan has provided financial support for tournament expenses when they were not covered by the tournament organizers.
Given the high costs associated with traveling to Japan, he sought additional funds to ensure support for his future competitions throughout the year.
Disregarding Sparg0’s Explanation
Despite Sparg0’s explanation, it appears that some individuals have chosen to ignore it, causing the Battle of BC champion to call out those who dismiss his account.
“I explained my situation about the Japan trip hundreds of times, and people just decide to ignore it and assume things just for the sake of a little bit of clout,” Sparg0 expressed his frustration.
Continued Success in the Smash Scene
Following his triumph at Battle of BC 5, Sparg0 further solidified his position by winning Smash Revolution 2023, a local tournament in Mexico, defeating Andrik to claim the trophy.
He now sets his sights on the upcoming Crown the Third tournament, where he will face off against renowned players such as Tweek, Shuton, Light, and his Mexican rival, MkLeo.
As Sparg0 continues to excel in the Smash Ultimate scene, he remains focused on his competitive journey and strives to dispel any misunderstandings regarding the expenses associated with FaZe Clan’s involvement in the Smash community.
