A lot is going against Pokemon SV, mostly coming down to performance issues and that’s only obvious since the game’s biggest weakness is the limited hardware capabilities of the Nintendo Switch. But they should have thought of this before jumping onto the open-world bandwagon with Scarlet and Violet.
Now that they have, it was only a matter of time before they needed more content to keep the fans together.
This upcoming 2-part DLC release, the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, intends to keep Pokemon SV running for a while. Part I is The Teal Mask and it’s releasing on 13th September. Part II is the Indigo Disk and that’s supposed to release towards the latter half of this year. Can Nintendo keep it together?
Strange as it may sound, it does come down to the number of new and returning Pokemon in The Teal Mask.
This is about all returning Pokemon in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC Part I, i.e., The Teal Mask.

This table includes 200 confirmed returning Pokemon in The Teal Mask based on multiple sources. This is the Teal Mask Pokedex in its nascency.
It is speculative and both the number of Pokemon as well as the Pokemon themselves will change even after the Indigo Disk release. This table will be updated with the actual Pokemon that make it to the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.
How many Pokemon are returning to Scarlet and Violet DLC?
Over 230 Pokemon will be added to this Scarlet and Violet DLC – The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. So far, in Part I of the DLC, i.e., The Teal Mask, we have 6 all new Pokemon and 200 returning Pokemon which means 206 Pokemon in The Teal Mask alone.
The Indigo Disk, that’s Part II of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, will add more Pokemon surely as it does look like a completely different setting that will concentrate more on Water Pokemon instead of Grass and Poison types like in The Teal Mask.
I did the math and speculate around 15 more new or DLC Exclusive Pokemon to make it to the Area Zero Pokedex. With the 2-part release, I expect all Teal Mask Pokemon to be right there in The Indigo Disk.
We’re already sure to get 2 new Paradox Pokemon – Raging Bolt and Iron Crown with the Indigo Disk. Archaludon is waiting on flanks as well as a new legendary Pokemon Terapagos that may play just as key a role in The Indigo Disk as Ogerpon does in The Teal Mask.
So that’s 4 more Pokemon already and we’re up to 210.
