Is Fallout 4 Multiplayer? Here’s What You Should Know

Released back in 2015, Fallout 4 remains a solid entry in Bethesda’s Fallout series. The game features everything that the players liked about the series and made it better.

Since the game has a massive open world and features tons of activities that you can do, it is natural if you ask yourself “is Fallout 4 multiplayer?”

Worry not because we’ve got an answer for you right here! Since Fallout 76 didn’t live up to expectations, players went back to Fallout 4 and were wondering if the multiplayer aspect could be brought into that game since it is so much better.

With that said, let’s dive right in and take a look at if Fallout 4 can be played with a friend or not.

Fallout 4: Is it Multiplayer?

Unfortunately, just like Skyrim, Fallout 4 does not have any co-op or multiplayer mode. The vast open world can sometimes feel barren and lonely.

While the game does not feature a multiplayer mode, don’t let that get your hopes down. The lovely community of Fallout 4 has worked together and came up with a co-op mod for the game.

If you’ve been playing Fallout 76, you will know that the multiplayer aspect of a game like that is fun.

However, the game itself isn’t what players wanted and has tons of random bugs (classic Bethesda, am I right?) If you want to scratch that multiplayer itch in a Fallout game, worry not because we’ve got a solution for you.

Fallout 4 Multiplayer Mod

First of all, head over to the TiltedOnline GitHub page and download the mod from there. Keep in mind that this mod is for both Fallout 4 and Skyrim.

After downloading and unzipping the files, select Fallout 4 by pressing “2” and hitting “Enter”. After that, select the .exe file of Fallout 4 named “Fallout4.exe”. 

Now, the game will start and you will be able to play with one of your friends. However, keep in mind that this mod only works for PC.

If you are on the PS4 or Xbox One, you’ll have to continue roaming the wasteland alone. Hopefully, Bethesda implements a co-op mode in their latest Fallout entry – whenever that arrives.

Playing a game like Fallout 4 with a friend can change the entire experience. Both of you can roam around the massive map without any worries.

If you decide to do a quest together, you can tell your friend to attack from the flank while you go guns blazing through the main gate. Plus, this will make defending your settlements easier since there will be two of you against the AI.

On top of that, you can also make two settlements (one for yourself and one for your friend). You can visit each other and trade items if you want. This gives a good sense of growth after humanity was almost wiped thanks to the nuclear blast.

Now, go on out there and explore the wastelands with a buddy of yours and help all those settlements in need! Just watch out for the Deathclaws since they can still be quite scary even if you have the numbers advantage.
