Furnace is a necessary block in Minecraft that can be used to smelt important items like food and minerals. It’s important to progress further into the game with a Furnace. So today, we’ll show you how to make a Furnace in Minecraft.
What You Need to Craft Furnace
- 8x Cobblestone/Blackstone/Cobbled Deepslate
- 1x Crafting Table
How to Make a Furnace in Minecraft
Step 1: Collect 8x Cobblestone/Blackstone/Cobbled Deepslate
First of all, a Furnace can be crafted using either 8x of any stone variations above.
Cobblestone is a super common block in Minecraft that can be obtained by mining Stone blocks with any non–Silk Touch pickaxe.
You can find Stone literally everywhere in the Minecraft world. Either a cliffside, a high mountain, or just dig down to find any caves. There will be a large amount of Stone underground waiting for you!
Cobblestone can also be generated naturally in most Minecraft structures like Dungeons, Jungle Temples, Pillager Outposts, Strongholds, Villages, Ruins, and Woodland Mansions.
Watch out when collecting them in these structures because it’s very dangerous.
You can also make a cobblestone generator to farm it at your base.
The compact one can yield up to 10,000x Cobblestone in an hour. So if you’re looking for a large amount of them, try to make one!
If you dig deep enough (Y-axis below zero), you can find a new variation of Stone block, which is Deepslate.
When it’s mined with a non-Silk Touch pickaxe, it will drop 1x Cobbled Deepslate. You can gather 8x of those to craft a Furnace.
Blackstone is another dark version of a normal Cobblestone in the overworld. However, it only spawns in the Nether dimension and mostly in dangerous places.
You can find Blackstone in any biomes near the lava lakes or deep underground. Or you can find them anywhere in the Basalt Deltas biome.
Just make sure to prepare your gears and some fire protection potions.
You can also trade with the Piglins in the Nether to get 8-16x Blackstone for 1x Gold Ingot.
Step 2: Collect 1x Crafting Table
The Crafting Table is the crucible part to craft a Furnace since it will provide a 3×3 crafting area needed.
When you have the Crafting Table, remember to place it down so you can use it later!
Step 3: Finish off Crafting a Furnace
When you have 8x of any Cobblestone variants, just right-click the Crafting Table and put them all in, leaving the middle grid empty to craft 1x Furnace.
You’re now able to pull it into your hot bar and place it in the world to smelt stuff.
And remember that you can always mine your Furnace with any pickaxe to move them along. Enjoy the cooked meat!
