A recent leak has unveiled the five-star characters slated to feature in the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.0 update. Developer HoYoverse has already officially announced the introduction of three new Fontaine characters, Lynette, Lyney, and Freminet, who are speculated to be related.
The New Faces of Fontaine
Among the trio, Lyney is anticipated to be a five-star unit, while Freminet and Lynette are expected to have a lower rarity. As Lyney is the only new five-star character, the first Limited Character Banners in Fontaine will showcase three different re-runs.
A post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has disclosed the five-star characters to be featured in the two banner cycles during the 4.0 update. The first part of the update will reportedly spotlight the new Pyro user Lyney and the popular Hydro character Yelan, with Childe and Zhongli scheduled for the second banner cycle.
The Power of Pyro and Hydro
Lyney, a new DPS character, is said to have a kit revolving around his Charged Attack. Similar to Ganyu, Lyney’s Charged Attack will have two different damage levels determined by the charging time. Yelan, one of the most popular five-star characters in the game, is renowned for her versatility. She can dish out significant Hydro damage and perform in almost every team composition type. Her damage effects can stay on the field even when she gets swapped out, making her an excellent sub-DPS.
The Return of the Archons
The appearance of Zhongli’s banner could suggest that HoYoverse will continue the pattern of featuring one Archon per update after a new major region arrives. Zhongli, the best Geo character in Genshin Impact, can create powerful shields and dish out substantial burst damage with his Planet Befall.
