Who is Cookie in Animal Crossing?
Cookie is a pink dog villager with a Peppy personality. She was added in the Animal Crossing games when the first game, Doubutsu no Mori, was released.
She has since appeared in all of the games, except Wild World and Pocket Camp. She was recently in New Horizons.
She celebrates her birthday on June 18th and is a Gemini.
Cookie’s Name
As a Peppy villager, Cookie is sweet – perhaps even too sweet and perky sometimes, so her English name suits her very well.
Cookie’s English name also probably comes from the fact that some dog treats are called biscuits or cookies.
In the original Japanese games, she is called Perinu and is a combination of the name Perrine and inu, the Japanese word for dog.
Cookie’s Looks
Cookie has pink and white fur. The left and right sides of her face are pink, with the center and her snout in white. The tips of her paws and tail are white as well.
She has big round eyes that glisten. Her eyelashes are curved and noticeable as well. She has a big brown nose and an equally big smile.
Her default clothing has changed over the years. In the first Animal Crossing up to New Leaf, she wore a Blue Tartan dress or tee.
However, in New Horizons, she got a closet makeover and now wears a light blue Retro Dress.
Cookie’s Catchphrase
Her English catchphrase is easy to understand. “Arfer” sounds like it’s derived from “arf”, which is an onomatopoeia for dog barking.
Adding the -er part actually makes it sound quite peppy or bubbly and it suits Cookie well.
In Japanese, she adds “puririn” in her sentences. It’s a cute onomatopoeia sound that can also give a pop, refreshing, and jellylike feeling. I’m not really sure, but it sounds cute!
Cookie’s Personality
Peppy villagers like Cookie dream of becoming a pop superstars all the time. They aim to be famous and will tell you or their neighbors that they won’t forget about their friends when they become a big celebrities. Dream big, Cookie!
Although Cookie’s energetic vibe can annoy her Cranky or Snooty neighbors sometimes, she mostly gets along well with everyone. Normal villagers will look up to her for her confidence and go-getter attitude.
Big Sister villagers won’t really fully get Peppy’s stardom interests, but they will still be supportive and understanding, and Cookie definitely appreciates this.
Big Sisters are more practical about things, while Peppy villagers like Cookie are all about the trends and pizzaz!
If you have Lazy villagers on your island, watch Cookie’s interaction with them. Cookie can be really silly and funny too, but mostly in an unintentional way.
Lazy villagers love to talk about crazy what-ifs and they can rope Peppies into joining them. Case in point below.
Cookie’s House in Animal Crossing
Cookie’s house is as adorable and pink as her! It’s a combination of a Pink Wooden Roof, White Clay Exterior walls, and a Maple Windowed Door. The pastel look gives off a cute and homey feeling.
Step inside her house and you’ll see a Cookie-themed room. Everything is pink and white just like her, with hearts and ribbons, and frilly details. The wallpaper is a Pink Quilt Wall that goes well with her Birch Flooring.
Most of her furniture and items are from the Cute Set. She sleeps in a Cute Bed with pink bed sheets and a lacey canopy tied in red ribbons.
Her Cute Music Player plays Bubblegum K.K. and she has a big Pink Heart Rug at the center.
So much pink!
Cookie’s Popularity
Since she’s one of the villagers who have been there since the first game, she has a lot of longtime fans. People who played the old Animal Crossing games were excited to have her in New Horizons again.
Thanks to Animal Crossing Portal’s monthly polls on villager popularity, we know where Cookie stands. As of this writing, she is ranked in tier 3, which is fairly popular, all things considered.
How To Get Cookie in Animal Crossing?
If Cookie is one of your dreamies, you can get her through these methods. The Mystery Tour method requires luck, patience, and Nook Miles Tickets.
Before landing on an island, the game will roll for species first and then pick the personality. There are only two Peppies among dogs, so there’s a 50% chance you’ll get Cookie if the conditions are right.
For the Campsite method, you also need a lot of luck and patience. You increase your chances of meeting Cookie if you don’t have a Peppy villager yet.
The Amiibo Card method is the easiest way to get Cookie. You can also get her through inviting her from other players.
What To Gift Cookie?
Increase your friendship with Cookie by gifiting her clothes in Cute style. Cookie also loves the color aqua and green.
We suggest gifting her a Blossom Tee, Flower Sweater, or an Embroidered Tank, as seen below.
