Strangely, there’s not much hype for the new Avatar game, other than those of us who know about it already.
For me, this is the biggest game of 2023, not Starfield, or Spiderman 2, or Baldur’s Gate. Avatar is the biggest game release this year and it’s releasing last, on 7th December.
Maybe that’s how James Cameron and Ubisoft want to keep it for now and explode come November. Better still, maybe Ubisoft will push it ahead by a week like it did with AC Mirage.
When you look at the 4 available editions, you get to wonder if it’s all a bit too overstrung. But this Avatar Frontiers of Pandora Ultimate Edition is the top-tier digital edition available.
Here’s everything about it!
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: Ultimate Edition: What’s In It
Season Pass
This includes 2 DLCs that will be available later down the line. You can get this with the Gold Edition too and it’s also included in the Collector’s Edition physical pack.
There’s no official information on the upcoming DLCs but that’s obvious in pre-release. The idea is to keep players hooked for a few months.
Bonus Mission/s
Not much on whether this is one bonus mission or multiple missions. Also, this may be related to upcoming DLCs and not available in-game from launch.
But if it is available in-game from launch, Ubisoft might have added unique rewards to it. Exciting stuff.
Resistance Banshee Mount and Equipment Pack
Looking cool while playing Avatar as the lead Na’vi character and riding your Ikran is the real deal. That’s what this mostly cosmetic pack is all about, a custom Banshee mount. But it also includes a matching weapon pack and a unique weapon. Maybe it’s that bow up top.
Sarentu Equipment and Cosmetic Pack
This add-on pack is exclusive to the Ultimate Edition, and the Collector’s Edition of course.
First up, you get the Sarentu Herative cosmetic pack – might just be a time-limited option. Miss it now miss it forever. It includes a full-blown character cosmetic set, a premium weapon skin and a Banshee cosmetic set, which will be a mount plus add-ons to make you and your Ikran really stand out.
Adding on to that, you also get the Sarentu Hunter pack. This includes a whole character gear set plus a unique weapon. Again, this might be a time-limited pack too.
Pre Order Bonus
There’s a nice little pre-order bonus added in too if you log your purchase before 7th December or whenever the release date is in case it’s changed. You get the cosmetic Child of 2 Worlds Pack which includes one full-character cosmetic a one premium weapon skin.
Digital Artbook
Exclusive digital artbook to set crazy good Pandorian wallpapers or to just enjoy Ubisoft artwork.
Getting Your Avatar Frontiers of Pandora Ultimate Edition
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is releasing across a couple of platforms. Here are the best places to pre-order –
This is a digital-only edition so you’re better off getting it from official digital retailers. The price tag’s $129.99.
But hold up.
There’s another way to get the Avatar Frontiers of Pandora Ultimate Edition for free, well almost.
Like Game Pass, Ubisoft’s launched Ubisoft+, their very own subscription service. Currently priced at $14.99 a month for PC-only and $17.99 for PC and select Xbox (and Amazon Luna) access. You essentially get to play the whole lot of Ubisoft games including this new Avatar game for free come December.
The only downside is for PlayStation 5 players as Ubisoft+ is yet to deliver native support for PS. But December’s still some way away so fingers crossed on that. Ubisoft almost always delivers.
If you’re a PC player, this might be the best way to get Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. You can access Ultimate Edition content right from Ubisoft+.
I’d say this Avatar Frontiers of Pandora Ultimate Edition is worth it. You get access to 2x future DLCs, a lot of skin and accessory cosmetic options, some unique weapons and etcetera to perhaps the game that’ll change video gaming forever.
Eywa Ngahu!
