Saying that Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey has a lot of armor sets is an understatement. The game has a crazy range of armor sets, including Spartan War Hero armor, Demigods set, and the fabled Celestial Suit set. The list goes on and on and on, with each armor more impressive than the next.
And it’s not like these armors are some sort of a luxury. These are necessary to progress further into the game as you fight bigger and stronger enemies.
This brings up the debate of Epic armor sets vs. Legendary armor sets. Some players prefer the Epic armor set because it allows more engravings than a Legendary armor set. On the other hand, Legendary armor sets are just a treat to look at – and the perfect choice for a focused build.
Honest Admission: We are ‘Team Legendary Armors,’ so all of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey outfits in this list are Legendary.
In short, Ubisoft has done a pretty good job at balancing out the Epic and Legendary armor set capabilities. There is no clear winner, so we won’t waste much time on it either.
Instead, let’s help you find Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey’s best armor set.
But first, some basics to help you understand how the Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey armor sets work.
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey Legendary Armor Set
Legendary AC: Odyssey outfits are the rarest items in the game, and finding them is no piece of cake.
There are 4 gear types in AC: Odyssey- Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary- differentiated by color. You can see all Legendary gear in your inventory in gold.
As for the armor set, there are a total of 5 armor slots for both protagonists, Alexios and Kassandra.
The armor sets include a headpiece, arms, torso, waist belts, and leg/shin pads. You can equip these pieces as you find them – one at a time – and then equip the whole set for extra bonuses and increased stats.
5 Best Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey Armor Sets
Now, we look at what we think are the best Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey armor sets. First, we’ll take a look at the stats of these 5 AC: Odyssey best armor sets, and then tell you how to get them.
1. Pirate Set
Players focusing solely on an Assassin build absolutely love this armor for its increased stealth and hefty damage boost. Sneaking around and assassinating your enemies while going unnoticed is just a lot more fun with the Pirate armor on.
And it’s not just enemy assassinations, castle takedown missions seem a bit easier when you can blend in and avoid enemy guards and even the captains’ eyes.
To get this assassination set, you’ll have to travel the seas for days, fight and defeat every cultist of the Gods of the Aegean Sea.
But, you can only go and fight these cultists once you have completed Episode 3 of the Main Quest.
These will be sea battles and tough ones, so upgrade your ship and prepare well before taking on these cultists.
Pirate Set Perks
- Hood: +15% Assassin Damage, +10% Critical Chance (Full Health)
- Torso Armor: +15% Assassin Damage, +25% Adrenaline on Assassination
- Gauntlet: +15% Assassin Damage, +15% Critical Damage
- Waistband: +15% Assassin Damage, +5% Critical Chance
- Treads: +15% Assassin Damage, +10% Critical Chance (Full Health)
2. Spartan War Hero Set
The Spartan War Hero set is AC: Odyssey’s best armor set for a warrior build. If you prefer brawls and hand-to-hand combat, the Spartan War Hero will provide a massive damage boost.
It doesn’t do much in respect of reducing health damage, but why bother when you get off the charts Overpower Abilities. The same goes for stealth. But, we have a hunch that if you’re building a Spartan Warrior, you won’t be big on stealth.
You’ll have to get rid of the Peloponnesian League to get your hands on the Spartan War Hero Set. And much like the Pirate Set, you need to have completed the 3rd Episode of the Main Quest before you can go hunting for the Greeks Peloponnesian cultists.
Spartan War Hero Perks
- Helmet: +15% Warrior Damage, +20% Damage (Athenian Soldiers)
- Torso Armor: +15% Warrior Damage, +25% Critical Damage
- Gauntlets: +15% Warrior Damage, +5% Critical Chance
- Belt: +15% Warrior Damage, +20% Damage & Overpower abilities
- Treads: +15% Warrior Damage, +5% All Damage
3. Armor Of The Fallen
Hands down the coolest Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey DLC armor. Aside from the fact that it looks super cool on Alexios, you also need it to complete several missions in the Underworld, including a visit to the Hades Palace.
This is all set in the Fate of Atlantis DLC during the Torment of Hades episode. You will have to install the Fate Of Atlantis DLC to enjoy this armor set as well as get some enthralling new quests.
Getting this Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey secret armor is a bit different from the others. You’ll get the first four pieces by defeating the Poisoner, Epiktetos, Swordfish, and Deianeira.
As for the final piece, you’ll have to visit the Underworld, through the Gates of Hades, and meet an old frenemy to get it. We won’t spoil it any further!
Armor Of The Fallen Perks
- Helmet: +25% Warrior Damage, +10% Max Health
- Torso Armor: +25% Warrior Damage, +10% Max Health
- Gauntlets: +25% Hunter Damage, +10% Max Health
- Waistband: +25% Assassin Damage, +10% Max Health
- Treads: +25% Assassin Damage, +10% Max Health
4. Greek Hero Set
To survive against the big boys, and there are plenty of ‘em in AC: Odyssey, you need this armor set. Arena battles and long conquests require a heightened damage resistance and health boosts, both of which the Greek Hero set provides in abundance. And it’s Greek armor so, of course, it looks fantastic.
As far as finding this armor set in the game is concerned, it’s pretty straightforward.
You have to kill 5 mercenaries to get the 5 pieces and complete the Greek Hero Set. There’s the Flash, the Lucky Drunk, the Frenzied, the Resplendent, and the Translucent. There’s no specific killing order, just kill whoever you can find first and take the piece. It’s a lot more fun and a lot less time-consuming than naval battles.
Greek Hero Set Perks
- Helmet: +15% Warrior Damage, +20% Half Damage Ignore Chance
- Torso Armor: +15% Warrior Damage, +30% Total Armor
- Bracers: +15% Warrior Damage, +10% Max Health
- Belt: +15% Warrior Damage, +15% Melee Resistance
- Sandals: +15% Warrior Damage, +10% Elemental Resistance
5. Demigod Set
With the Demigod set on, you’re almost invincible. It’s the perfect mix of offense and defense boosts, making it the best choice for Assassin or Warrior build. Players who switch between build and skills trees will love this armor set because of its uniform boosts.
That said, it’s also one of the most difficult to acquire because you can’t do anything to get this armor set unless you complete Episode 9 of the Main Quest. Yup, that’s the last Episode, and Ubisoft saved the best for the end.
Once you deal with Deimos, you get 4 out of the 5 pieces of Demigod armor set. The 5th piece is Aspasia’s Circlet.
To get that, you have to complete a quest called A Fresh Start. It required a lot of time and patience, but the perks are worthy of the wait.
Demigod Set Perks
- Circlet: +15% Warrior Damage, 5% All Damage
- Torso Armor: +15% Warrior Damage, 5% All Damage
- Bracers: +15% Warrior Damage, 5% All Damage
- Belt: +15% Warrior Damage, 5% All Damage
- Boots: +15% Warrior Damage, 5% All Damage
