A fresh rumor from a leaker suggests that a new RPG from Atlus is on the way to Xbox Game Pass!
This is maybe not too surprising, given that Atlus has been bringing Persona to Xbox Game Pass as of late.
Also, unlike previous games, the aforementioned RPG was actually Xbox-compatible at its first release, making this development even less surprising.
Soul Hackers 2 overview
Soul Hackers 2 is coming to Xbox Game Pass, so those who haven’t played the original game yet may want to wait before purchasing the sequel on PC or Xbox. We don’t have any idea of how long it will be, though.
The rumor only mentions an impending release of the subscription service.
Soul Hackers 2, created by Atlus and published by Sega, was released in 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and the PlayStation 3 in Japan on August 25 and in the United States on August 26.
Reviewers generally found the game to be above average, but not exceptional, giving it Metascores between 70 and 77.
Moreover, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers 2 is the fifth game in the Devil Summer series and a part of the Megami Tensei genre back in 1997.
In my opinion, though, Soul Hackers 2 looks a lot like your favorite gacha game Genshin Impact.
Gameplay narrative
You can take a quick read at Soul Hackers 2’s plot line, the upcoming new RPG for XBOX Game Pass, in a quote below.
Within the glow of neon signs, technological progress leads people to become addicted to consumer goods. Hidden from view is an impending conflict between the Devil Summoning Yatagarasu and the Phantom Society.
A computer hivemind, called Aion, has developed sentience in the hidden sea of humanity’s data.
After keeping an eye on humanity, Aion concludes that the end of the world is near and produces two agents, Ringo and Figue, to stop it.
Collectively, these Aion operatives must find the source of a butterfly effect that could spell doom for the planet.
Soul Hackers 2
And from the looks of it, Soul Hackers 2 sure does make itself a twin to Genshin Impact. Though, I beg to differ about its similarities when it comes to gameplay.
Well, you can take a look at another gacha game, but this time, it’s an open-world fantasy game called Blue Protocol. You don’t want to miss it!
