Tom Cruise is no stranger to death-defying stunts in the Mission: Impossible franchise, and the upcoming installment of the series is no exception.
Co-star Vanessa Kirby recently revealed that Cruise rode a motorcycle off a cliff in Iceland and parachuted to safety, all in one day.
No Fear, No Problem
Despite the apparent danger of the stunt, Kirby shared that Tom Cruise showed no fear.
Instead, he was calm and collected throughout the process, even repeating the stunt multiple times in order to capture all the necessary angles.
Kirby went on to praise Cruise’s unwavering belief in cinema and his passion for achieving the impossible.
She noted that Cruise’s attitude was inspiring, and his fearlessness made him the perfect fit for the franchise.
Exciting Developments for ‘Mission: Impossible’
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is set to hit theaters on July 14th, and Kirby is excited to reprise her role as the White Widow.
While she’s only signed on for one more installment at this point, Kirby expressed her hope that she will continue to be a part of the franchise in the future.
Last month, Paramount debuted 20 minutes of Dead Reckoning at CinemaCon.
Director Christopher McQuarrie, who helmed the previous two Mission: Impossible movies, returns for this installment, along with Kirby, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ving Rhames.
While the Mission: Impossible franchise has always been known for its thrilling stunts, Tom Cruise’s latest feat takes things to a whole new level.
Kirby’s comments suggest that the actor’s calm and collected demeanor helped make the stunt possible, and his unwavering belief in the power of cinema continues to drive the success of the series.
Fans of the franchise can look forward to the release of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One this summer, and with Kirby and Cruise leading the way, it’s sure to be another action-packed adventure.
