During the CinemaCon 2023 event held in Las Vegas, the actor gave fans a sneak peek of what’s in store for both films.
Wonka: A Musical Prequel
Wonka is an upcoming musical prequel film that features the actor stepping into the shoes of Roald Dahl’s eccentric chocolatier, Willy Wonka.
The story follows the young Willy Wonka as he embarks on a journey that leads him to create his iconic candy empire.
The film boasts an impressive cast, including Hugh Grant, who will be playing one of Willy Wonka’s Oompa Loompas.
During the presentation, Chalamet revealed that working with Grant was a dream come true, and the actor delivered a standout performance as one of the iconic characters in the film.
Wonka, directed by Paul King from a script by King and Simon Farnaby, promises to be a sincere and joyous film with seven musical numbers that will leave audiences singing along.
Dune: Part Two
In Dune: Part Two, Chalamet reprises his role as Paul Atreides in the sci-fi epic.
The film picks up where the first movie left off, with Paul and his mother Jessica joining the Fremen.
The presentation showed Chalamet’s character finally riding one of the giant sandworms on the desert planet Arrakis, and it also teased Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan in the upcoming sequel.
Denis Villeneuve, the director of Dune, joked during the presentation that Chalamet had returned with a lot more knowledge about chocolate after filming Wonka.
Villeneuve also revealed that the film was filmed entirely in IMAX, promising a visually stunning experience for audiences.
The film also introduces Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, a member of the family that killed Paul’s father Leto in the first movie.
Dune: Part Two releases on Nov. 3, promising an epic sci-fi adventure that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Chalamet’s Excitement for Upcoming Projects
Chalamet expressed his excitement for both films during the presentation, calling Wonka an “escape” for him.
In an interview with Vogue UK, the actor revealed that the film allowed him to throw whatever he wanted at the wall and create something extraordinary.

Meanwhile, Dune: Part Two promises to be an epic continuation of the sci-fi epic, with Chalamet at the forefront of the action.
