Prince William and Kate Middleton are ‘dedicated to duty’ as the monarchy’s future, according to a True Royalty TV co-founder, Nick Bullen.
As King Charles is crowned this weekend, Prince William is one step closer to the British throne. The couple has already assumed a much more central role as the youthful face of the monarchy’s future.
The Wales’ Marriage and Seriousness
Bullen explained that the secret of Prince William and Kate’s marriage is that it is very much a partnership, and he thinks that’s how royal relationships work.
Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II were a partnership, and they worked together. When Philip was in the room, he said he knew his job was to work with her and support her, and that his service was to his monarch.
Since William became next in line, everything changed. He was always serious about his duty and always knew what his destiny was, but now it’s there.
The couple’s seriousness is now evident in a way that wasn’t there even a year ago.
Bullen pointed out that there’s a stark contrast between how the Prince and Princess of Wales operate versus Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, announced they were stepping back as senior royals in 2020, and they now reside in California.
Since their departure, the couple has secured deals with Netflix and Spotify to produce original content. They have also repeatedly aired their unhappiness with the royals.
In January, Harry wrote a memoir, Spare, which is dominated by his strained relationship with his elder brother, Prince William.
The Sussexes are seen as living a showbiz, celebrity life in Montecito, while the Wales’ want to be seen as living a very serious life dedicated to duty and service. Bullen noted that he thinks the gap will widen even more.
Kate’s Devotion to Charitable Causes
Kate Middleton, 41, is the first royal to hold the title of Princess of Wales since William’s late mother, Princess Diana.
Middleton devotes much of her time to several charitable causes, many of which are centered on early childhood development and support. In 2021, she launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
Kate and William’s Role in the Monarchy’s Future
As the youthful face of the monarchy’s future, William, 40, and his wife have also inherited Charles and Camilla’s other honorary titles, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall.
That means managing and taking income from the Duchy of Cornwall, an estate comprising land across the U.K. that is reportedly worth 1 billion pounds.
In addition to taking on royal duties in support of the king, both in the U.K. and overseas, Middleton is very much part of the decision-making process in Kensington Palace.
According to Bullen, the Princess of Wales knows how best to work with William.
William can have a temper, and the Princess of Wales is very good at managing him.
It’s a partnership, and he knows how good she is and what a useful tool she is for the royal family.
