MoistCr1tikal, a renowned critic of Twitch, has issued a stark warning about the future of the platform following xQc’s multi-million dollar contract with rival streaming site Kick.
xQc’s non-exclusive deal with Kick marks the most significant acquisition in the history of the rival platform, sending ripples through the streaming community.
MoistCr1tikal Calls Twitch “a Sinking Ship”
Long-standing critic of Twitch, MoistCr1tikal, has amplified his critique of the streaming giant in the aftermath of xQc’s lucrative move to Kick.
The massive contract with the rival platform, despite being non-exclusive, has led MoistCr1tikal to call out the shortcomings of Twitch, referring to it as “the sinking ship.”
In his latest video, titled “This is Crazy,” MoistCr1tikal painted xQc’s deal with Kick as a momentous event in the content creation industry and a harbinger of Twitch’s precarious future.
MoistCr1tikal’s Prediction: xQc’s Likely Absence from Twitch
Despite the non-exclusive nature of xQc’s contract with Kick, MoistCr1tikal predicts that the popular streamer might not spend much time on Twitch.
He stated, “He legitimately has no incentive to stream on Twitch. Twitch is a platform that has banned xQc like five times.
It is also a platform that has no real contracts for top streamers anymore as well as the lower sub revenue split among any streaming platform available, whereas Kick has the highest.”
MoistCr1tikal argued that xQc might only use Twitch as a signal booster to migrate his large Twitch following, nicknamed ‘the juicers,’ over to Kick.
Twitch’s Troubled Waters: A Series of Missteps
MoistCr1tikal attributed Twitch’s current struggles to a series of poor decisions that have led to a significant loss of users.
He said, “Over the last few years, Twitch has been continuously hurting itself in confusion.
It has been making horrible decision after horrible decision over and over again, and it’s been hemorrhaging users. A lot of people have been going elsewhere.”
He criticized Twitch’s complacency in managing its dominant position in the market, leading to what he referred to as a self-induced downfall.
According to him, Twitch’s failure to innovate and adapt to the changing landscape of the streaming industry has prompted many users to abandon the platform.
Streaming Industry’s Tectonic Shift
The signing of xQc by Kick, a rival of Twitch, signifies a potential power shift in the streaming industry.
With Twitch’s complacency and a series of missteps affecting its user base, competitor platforms have seized the opportunity to onboard top streamers, challenging Twitch’s long-standing dominance in the streaming world.
MoistCr1tikal’s insights serve as a wake-up call for Twitch. The platform must address the concerns of its users and evolve its offerings to retain its streamers and audience.
Twitch’s future now hinges on its ability to rectify its mistakes, reinvent its strategies, and re-establish its position as a premier live streaming platform.
It remains to be seen whether Twitch can weather the storm and reclaim its lost ground in this fast-evolving industry.
