Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler recently reacted to the news that their former child co-stars from Friends and Big Daddy, Cole and Dylan Sprouse, are now 30 years old. Aniston and Sandler were surprised to hear this news during an Access Hollywood interview.
What Aniston and Sandler Had to Say
Upon learning about the Sprouse twins’ age, Aniston put her arms on her head and shouted, “What! Oh no, they’re not. That is so bad.” Sandler, however, found it hilarious and said, “They’re cool.”
Aniston and Sandler worked with the twins in the late 1990s and early 2000s when they were around the same age as the Sprouse twins.
The Sprouse twins got their first movie role in 1999’s Big Daddy alongside Sandler, playing a little boy who teaches Sandler’s character to grow up and be responsible. The next year, Cole was cast as Ross Geller’s (David Schwimmer) son from his first marriage on “Friends.”
Sandler talked about how he knew what the Sprouse twins were capable of and how he set the table for them to hop on Friends. Aniston added that the twins are both actively working.
Cole Sprouse’s Crush on Jennifer Aniston
During the interview, Jennifer Aniston also brought up Cole Sprouse’s 2021 comments about having the “biggest crush” on her while filming Friends. Cole admitted to Drew Barrymore in 2021 that his feelings for the older actress made it “quite difficult” to work with her, causing him to forget his lines and stammer a lot. He also revealed that the “Friends” crew teased him about his infatuation.
An Enduring Friendship
Aniston and Sandler have been close friends for over 30 years, even before they made it big in Hollywood. They first met as teenagers in a Los Angeles deli when Aniston was dating one of Sandler’s friends. They hit it off instantly and became close friends.
Sandler talked about how he was entranced by how Aniston was eating her pickle and knew he would be friends with her. Aniston also shared that Sandler takes you in, and once you’re in, “you become family. It’s like second nature.”
Both Aniston and Sandler went on to star in numerous hit movies and TV shows. Aniston famously starred as Rachel Green in Friends, while Sandler became known for his roles in movies like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and Grown Ups.
Aniston and Sandler’s friendship eventually led to them starring together in the 2011 comedy Just Go With It, where they played a plastic surgeon and his assistant who fall in love.
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler had a fun reaction to the news of their former child co-stars, Cole and Dylan Sprouse, turning 30. Their enduring friendship also proves that some relationships in Hollywood can stand the test of time.
