Ah yes, the supposed savior of modern gaming with regards to hardware.
Cloud gaming has been around for a minute now, and there are several competitors vying for your attention, and the dollars, in the cloud space.
But this route is more towards accessibility than hardware limitations.
Fortnite has long been available on the cloud, but only through a third party.
Nvidia Geforce Now extends the hardware and networking for users to be able to play the battle royale game online with their friends.
Coming back, this is how you play Fortnite on your Mac OS device, on the cloud.
- Get the GeForce subscription plan that you think suits your play the most.
- If you haven’t created an Nvidia, do so and then log into it.
- Download the Geforce Now client for your Mac device.
- Once downloaded, open the app.
- Log into your account, and search for Fortnite in the app search bar.
- Sign into your Epic Games account, and now you can play Fortnite.
Get your hands on a Geforce Now.
Do note that although you can play Fortnite on Mac using a cloud service, you need to have more than a half-decent internet connection and some serious bandwidth for lag-free gameplay.

Ever since gamers and Windows users figured out the joys of simulation, Mac OS on a Mac has been much less enjoyable than using Windows on it.
This might sound blasphemous to all you diehard Mac fans out there, but a virtual machine running Windows is another bonafide way to run Fortnite on MacBook.
Setting up a virtual machine might not be easy, and it might be a little confusing, but once you get it up and running, your computer will behave exactly as it would if you had Windows installed on any other device.
Parallels is a great program if you want to set up a virtual Windows 10/11 machine on your Mac.
It is simple, loading up Windows 10/11 on your Mac while MacOS runs in the background. One more thing to note is that it does require a lot of memory and processing power to run two operating systems AND Fortnite on top of that.
Bootcamp
And finally we come to the Intel Macs. The Bootcamp application only works on Intel-powered Mac devices, so M1 and upwards users have to wait for an official update that supports the application running on newer hardware.
Bootcamp is similar to Parallels in the way that it puts a layer of Windows 10 so that you can enjoy Fortnite on your Mac the same way you would on your Windows PC.
On top of that, it’s free, so you won’t have to spend anything to play Fortnite as you would when you go for Parallels.
