What to Expect from the Special Program Livestream
The Special Program livestream for the 3.8 updates is expected to provide more details about the rumored upcoming region.
This region will be a limited one, hosting an event similar to the annual Golden Apple Archipelago event. This event, which has been featured in updates 1.6 and 2.8, is considered by many to be filler content as it is not related to the main storyline of Genshin Impact.
Previous leaks about Genshin Impact have suggested that the new limited region will be located in the Sumeru nation. The region is expected to feature multiple layers of terrain that can be explored, including a number of underground waypoints.
It will also introduce a new domain featuring an enemy named Idyia, who bears a striking resemblance to the Oceanid of Qingce found in Liyue.
The Appeal of the Summer-Themed Annual Event
The summer-themed annual event is a fan favorite due to the numerous small objectives it offers, allowing players to earn a large number of free Primogems. With no new characters expected in the 3.8 updates, players can anticipate re-runs of four different characters and skin for Klee as well.
So far, credible leaks have only confirmed one character for a re-run in the upcoming update: the Hydro catalyst user Sangonimiya Kokomi.
Although Kokomi was not a popular character at the time of her release, the introduction of new artifact sets and the new Dendro elemental reaction have made her a must-have for many team compositions that require a Hydro user.
