Genshin Impact to Revamp Party Setup Screen

Genshin Impact, the popular action RPG from developer HoYoverse, is set to introduce a significant overhaul to its party setup screen in the upcoming Version 4.0.

This update has been eagerly anticipated by the game’s community, as the current party setup screen has been criticized for being outdated compared to other game features.

The Need for Change

The party setup screen in Honkai: Star Rail, another game by HoYoverse, has been lauded for its superior presentation and angles. Given that Honkai: Star Rail is a newer game, Genshin Impact players have been hoping for similar improvements in their game. The upcoming overhaul is seen as a sign that HoYoverse is committed to improving existing game features, not just adding new content.

What to Expect in the Overhaul

The revamped party setup screen is expected to debut during the Fontaine chapter of the game. The new setup will be more dynamic, with characters joining the party through unique animations. For example, Nahida might appear on a swing, Zhogli could slowly turn around, and Kazuha might be seen sheathing his katana.

However, players should manage their expectations as not all characters will have unique animations immediately. The developers plan to introduce unique animations for both 4-Star and 5-Star characters, indicating that character rarity will not affect the rollout of this feature.

More Exciting Updates

In addition to the party setup overhaul, Version 4.0 is expected to introduce new Artifacts and Battle Pass weapons as well as two new twin characters. There are also rumors about the potential for a fan-favorite character, Cloud Retainer, to become playable.

Cloud Retainer, the adoptive mother of Shenhe and Ganyu, was seen in her human form during the recent Lantern Rite event. She is rumored to be competing with the leaked Lion Dance Boy for the featured character spot in Version 4.4.

Looking Ahead

HoYoverse is also working on expanding the Sumeru and Mondstadt regions in the coming year. The developer aims to strike a balance between improving existing systems and introducing new content.
