If you were part of the #FortniteFlipped campaign, you already know that Epic Games has finally released a whole new Fortnite map – only the third-ever map overhaul.
Titled Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1, the new map has flipped the Chapter 2 map upside down, much of which was covered in snow which is now clearing up.
With 1/3rd of the snow now melted, the map is starting to reveal some newly added as well as some returning locations from the OG Fortnite map, new points of interest, and plenty of new creatures and NPCs.
With all these changes expected, we‘ve prepared a short guide/notes for the Fortnite Chapter 3 map.
We’ll talk about the changes, highlight the important locations, and – Spoiler Alert – introduce you to a new Marvel Cinematic Universe hero entering the Fortnite universe.
So, do give it a proper read to prepare yourself before exploring the new (flipped) island to get a headstart.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Map News
Released in December, most of Fortnite’s Chapter 3 map was covered in snow except for the eastern tropical area and the southern desert.
Slowly, by thawing out snow and releasing two patches, namely 19.10 and 19.20, the devs have implemented a handful of changes to the island.
Here are all the POIs available in the new Fortnite Season 3 map.
- Chonker’s Speedway
- Condo Canyon
- The Joneses
- Rocky Reels
- Greasy Grove
- Tilted Towers
- Camp Cuddle
- The Daily Bugle
- Coney Crossroads
- Covert Cavern
- Sleepy Sound
- Logjam Lumberyard
- Shifty Shafts
Worthy POIs on the New Fortnite Chapter 3 Map
With almost all of the Fortnite Chapter 3 map uncovered, there are a total of 14 locations. All of these are different from each other, but some are more fun to explore and fight in.
Here are the ones we think you should get accustomed to straight away.
Carved into the snowy mountains on the northwest side of the island, just besides Camp Cuddle, is Covert Cavern. A brand new POI that has massive loot not sitting idly by. It is protected by multiple Imagined Order guards because it is an Imagined Order base.
So, if you are going in for the loot, don’t go in empty-handed. You might come up against the NPC boss Gunnar. Defeat him to get your hands on a brand new weapon called Mythic Stinger SMG.
Thawing snow has revealed an old and familiar location from the OG Fortnite map. Situated almost in the middle of the flipped island, the Tilted Towers are back once again to be the focal landing point of Fortnite Battle Royale.
The layout is pretty much the same, the payloads are pretty much the same, and you can expect the intense Battle Royale action to stay the same around the Tilted Towers as well.
Other returning POIs include Shifty Shafts and Grease Grove, which were shunned after Season X Chapter 1.
Another new location in Fortnite Season 3 map is Chonker’s Speedway to the south of the Island. Chonker’s Speedway is a racing circuit just west of Condo Canyon.
Plenty of buildings surround the racetrack and there are 4 Whiplash Cars with Chonkers Tires.
There will definitely be 1 or 2 race challenges around this course this season, so memorize the locations and try it out ASAP!
Although not a map location, this is a noteworthy establishment with the release of Fortnite Chapter 3 map.
Every forum about Fortnite, be it Reddit or Fandom Wiki, has been home to theories about a large creature living unseen on Fortnite Island. And all those theories were vindicated with the 19.10 patch release.
Klombos are large peaceful creatures who can help you escape tight situations and provide important items. The exciting part, there are more than one of these enormous creatures, and they will attack if provoked.
The secret to taming these newly unearthed beasts is Klomberries. Feed them a Klomberry and wait for your reward.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Map with a Marvel Twist
The long wait to see Marvel’s web-slinger in Fornite is finally over. Spiderman is finally coming to Fortnite and in anticipation, the new Fortnite map has already revealed an iconic spidey POI.
The Daily Bugle offices are located in the eastern canyon along with Sanctuary and The Joneses. The Daily Bugle building is already covered in webs that players can use to jump around. The web-slinging superhero has brought a lot more cool stuff too.
- The iconic Spidey suit.
- Web-shooters – which players can equip over any costume.
- Web-slinging – hurtle across buildings quicker.
- Crawl faster and pick up stuff even when you’re knocked out.
And that’s pretty much it about the new Fortnite Chapter 3 map. With 14 POIs, it’s one of the biggest yet.
And with 3 different environments, we’d say it’s also one of the best yet. Battle Royale will be especially fun with the return of sweaty landing points like Tilted Towers and new loot locations like Covert Cavern.
