Netflix has released the first trailer for Extraction 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2020 hit Extraction. The trailer reveals that Chris Hemsworth’s character, Tyler Rake, presumed dead in the first film, is alive and back for another action-packed mission as a black ops mercenary.
An Impressive Team Behind the Scenes
Director Sam Hargrave returns for the sequel, as do producers Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously worked with Hemsworth on Avengers: Endgame. The cast includes Golshifteh Farahani and Adam Bessa as Nik and Yaz Khan, Rake’s mercenary crew members, plus newcomers Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili.
The first Extraction film was a major hit for Netflix. It became the most-watched original film premiere in the streaming service’s history, reaching 99 million households in its first four weeks of release. It was the most-streamed title during its debut weekend and ended up as the fourth most-watched streaming film of 2020.
A Preview of the Action-Packed Sequel
The Extraction 2 trailer offers a sneak peek at what fans can expect from the highly-anticipated sequel. The film follows Tyler Rake as he embarks on another high-stakes mission as a black ops mercenary.
One of the standout scenes in the trailer is a brawl in what looks like a snowy prison yard. Hemsworth’s character is seen protecting a young woman, throwing a flashbang in the air, and punching his way through a crowd.
Extraction 2 is directed by Sam Hargrave, who also directed the first film. Hargrave is a former stuntman who has worked on several blockbuster films, including Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and Captain America: Civil War.
Given the first movie’s success, there is much anticipation for the sequel. The new trailer for Extraction 2 promises to deliver the same excitement and adrenaline-fueled action as its predecessor. With Chris Hemsworth back as Tyler Rake, audiences will again be treated to his tough, take-no-prisoners attitude as he fights to complete his mission.
