Paramount+ has tapped Drew Crevello to serve as showrunner and executive producer for the upcoming live-action series, Dungeons & Dragons. The series was ordered by the streamer in January and will be a co-production between eOne and Paramount Pictures, with eOne serving as the lead studio.
The series has been given an eight-episode order and is based on the wildly popular tabletop fantasy roleplaying game, which is now owned by Hasbro.
Crevello’s Role in the Series
As showrunner and executive producer, Drew Crevello will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the show and will oversee the entire production process.
This will mark his first time running a series solo. He is well-known in the industry for his work as a film executive, during which he helped to develop hits like X-Men: First Class and Deadpool.
He most recently co-created and co-showran the Apple limited series WeCrashed.

Exact plot details about the Dungeons & Dragons series are being kept under wraps, including which elements of the game’s canon will be included.
The pilot for the series was written by Rawson Marshall Thurber, who will also direct the first episode.
