In a shocking incident, a customer shared home security footage on TikTok, revealing a DoorDash driver allegedly attempting to steal his Little Caesars order.
The video quickly garnered attention and left viewers stunned.
TikToker Kawayne, known as kawaynej, uploaded home surveillance footage capturing the moment the delivery driver pretended to deliver the order successfully.
However, the driver was then seen picking up the food and attempting to walk away with it.
Accompanied by a text-overlay, Kawayne’s message read, “Y’all I ordered pizza on DoorDash and this dasher delivered my food and came back and picked it up! Then decided to bring it back after I told her I’m calling the cops and posting her on the internet!”
Footage reveals the driver’s actions
In the video, the driver placed a pizza box in front of the customer’s door and took a step back.
She then snapped a photo of the delivery using her phone, seemingly as proof of completion, and proceeded towards the door to retrieve the order.
Instead of delivering it, the driver was caught on camera attempting to take the food for herself.
The TikTok clip also showcased a text exchange between Kawayne and the driver, where he confronted her about the attempted theft.
In his message, Kawayne stated that he had evidence from two cameras and threatened to report her to the authorities while sharing her actions online.
Towards the end of the video, the DoorDash driver was seen returning the Little Caesars pizza she had allegedly tried to steal.
Outrage and shared experiences
TikTok users expressed their shock and frustration in the comments, sympathizing with the customer and criticizing the driver’s behavior.
Many questioned why someone would toy with hungry customers and voiced their support for involving the police in such cases.
Several users also shared their own encounters with delivery drivers attempting to deceive the system for personal gain.
One individual recalled three drivers picking up orders from restaurants only to decline them, essentially obtaining free meals. Another user shared a similar experience and admitted to feeling emotional after such an incident occurred.
Repeat incidents of food theft
This incident is not the first time a delivery driver has been caught stealing someone’s food. Just last month, Twitch star YourRAGE called out a DoorDash driver who had been caught consuming part of his order outside his home.
Instances like these raise concerns about the integrity and trustworthiness of food delivery services. Customers rely on these platforms to deliver meals promptly and with professionalism.
DoorDash, like other delivery companies, must address such incidents to maintain the confidence of their customers and ensure the security of their deliveries.
