Mediatonic’s Fall Guys is a free-to-play platform battle royale game that was once known as Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Up to sixty people take control of jellybean-like critters and face off against one another in various randomly generated minigames, including obstacle courses and tag. Throughout several rounds, players will be knocked out until only one remains.
On August 4, 2020, Devolver Digital launched the game for PlayStation 4 and Windows. Epic Games now has publishing rights after acquiring Mediatonic. Later, on June 21, 2022, the game became free-to-play and was launched for a wider variety of consoles and computers, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with support for cross-platform play across all of these systems. The change included implementing a seasonal battle pass system to sell in-game content like avatar skins to gamers.
Many reviewers praised Fall Guys for its chaotic gameplay and unique aesthetic. More than 10 million copies were sold, and as of this post’s most recent update, the game’s free-to-play model has attracted more than 50 million users.
