BLACKPINK, the K-pop girl group consisting of Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa, made history as the first Korean act to headline Coachella in 2023.
The group had previously performed at the festival in 2019 and marked their first full U.S. concert.
Despite a technical issue that pushed back the start time, BLACKPINK’s set was a historic and celebratory moment for both the group and their fans.
The Setlist
The set opened with the biting Pink Venom, followed by hit songs like Kill This Love and How You Like That. Each song felt like a grand finale in its own right, and the energy carried throughout the entire set.
The group performed songs from their EP Square Two, as well as three full-length albums, BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA, THE ALBUM, and BORN PINK.
Hits like Pretty Savage and Kick It had the crowd roaring with approval.
Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa also highlighted their burgeoning solo careers during the set.
Jennie performed a remixed version of her single You & Me with a new rap verse, while Jisoo sang her debut single Flower in a red asymmetrical dress made of plastic flowers.
Rosé performed Gone / On the Ground while seated with her legs dangling down from the middle of the stage. Lisa closed out this chapter of BLACKPINK’s set with an explicit version of Money.
The Crowd
Throughout the set, BLACKPINK tapped into what they do best together: making their fans, known as Blinks, feel seen. The group engaged with as many Blinks as they could, and the fans sang along to every word.
The girls expressed their gratitude to the fans, telling them that they were the reason for their success and that the performance was a dream come true.
