Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon — Release Date, Storyline, and more

FromSoftware’s longest-running franchise is Armored Core, a mech combat game that it’s been developing for years despite not releasing a new installment in the series since the PS3 and Xbox 360. Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon is in the making and here’s what you need to know.

Release date of Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon

The release date for Fires of Rubicon is revealed at the end of the video, and it’s a huge deal: it will come out in 2023.

However, without additional information, we can only assume that it is targeting the end of the year, but this is quite promising nonetheless.

It makes sense for FromSoftware to have the game ready to go by the end of the year, considering that some substantial Elden Ring DLC is expected to appear around the middle of 2023.

Gameplay Story and Trailer

The Armored Core series has always been mission-based, however, this may not have always been the case.

Nothing will alter this with Fires of Rubicon, but the plot itself may become significantly more important. As it was revealed in the game’s announcement, the action takes place on the planet Rubicon 3, where a precious new material has sparked a proxy war between corporations and harvesters.

Where can you play the game?

As was the case with Elden Ring before it, the game will be available not just for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but also for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. At this time, it is hard to determine whether or not this will result in any kind of reduction in scope.

There will also be a release on PC, as expected (you can currently add it to your wishlist on Steam), however, there are no plans to release it on Switch.
