Amber Heard, the American actress who recently faced a widely-publicized defamation case with her ex-husband Johnny Depp, has been spotted running in Madrid.
Heard has moved to Spain’s central capital city and is reportedly raising her daughter away from the Hollywood spotlight.
Early Morning Run in Madrid
Heard was seen sporting a white tank top, black leggings, and matching sneakers during her workout. She also wore a charcoal gray fanny pack around her waist and black wireless headphones.
The Aquaman star shielded her eyes from the sun with a visor and sported a high ponytail with her wavy blonde hair.
Makeup-Free and Showing Off Her Natural Beauty
The actress also showed off her natural beauty during her run, appearing without makeup.
This sighting of Heard comes after it was confirmed that she had relocated to Spain with her two-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige.
According to a friend of the performer, Heard has quit Hollywood and is “happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise.”
Amber Heard’s move to Spain comes after she sold her home in Yucca Valley, California, for $1.1 million last year.
In October, she was spotted on a beach in Majorca with her girlfriend, Eve Barlow, leading to rumors that she was living in a rented house on the island.
However, it is now confirmed that Heard has moved permanently to a new home outside Madrid with her daughter.
A Break from Hollywood
Heard hasn’t worked since filming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2021 and a modestly budgeted thriller, In The Fire, last spring.
It is not known whether she is still with Barlow, who has remained in Los Angeles and is working as a writer.
In a Christmas essay on Substack, Barlow appeared to suggest they had split, saying, “Today I was reminded of a beautiful passage from a Khalil Gibran poem about why strength has to be renourished and revitalized in ourselves, often alone.”
Heard’s daughter was born a year before the highly publicized Depp v. Heard defamation case. The case centered on allegations of defamation made by both the actress and her ex-husband.
The pair were married from 2015 until 2017, and Heard alleged that Depp had been physically abusive over the course of their marriage, which he denied.
In 2018, Heard published an op-ed in The Washington Post outlining how she felt speaking out about the alleged abuse she suffered during her marriage negatively affected her career.
She went on to file suit against News Group Newspapers for printing various allegations about her marriage through The Sun in 2020.
Depp sued his former wife for defamation regarding the op-ed in 2019, and she followed suit before their trial began in July of last year.
Settling the Case
Ultimately, it was found that Depp had been defamed by his ex, while a single statement made by his former lawyer regarding Heard was also found to have been defamatory.
Both parties made appeals regarding the judgments, but they dropped them and settled the case in December of last year.
As part of the settlement, the actor received $1 million from Heard’s insurance company.
A New Chapter for Amber Heard
Heard has expressed that she has “lost faith in the American legal system” following her high-profile legal battles.
With her move to Madrid, she seems to be starting a new chapter in her life.
While she may not be in any hurry to return to work or Hollywood, she has expressed a willingness to come back “when the time is right for the right project.”
