The gaming community is abuzz with anticipation as fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom eagerly await a potential DLC reveal in the coming week.
This speculation has been fueled by the upcoming Nintendo Direct event scheduled for June 21.
The Hype Surrounding Nintendo Direct
The Nintendo Direct event, confirmed on June 20, has sparked a wave of excitement among Zelda fans. They are hopeful that the event, which will feature the upcoming release of Pikmin 4, will also include a major reveal for Tears of the Kingdom. The event is scheduled to last for 40 minutes, providing ample time for several game updates and reveals.
Pyoro, a known leaker who previously revealed the existence of Everybody 1-2 Switch and Sonic Superstars, has suggested that the event will feature a new 2D Super Mario Bros game and a classic SNES Remake. There’s also speculation about a possible Mario Baseball game, following a recent appearance of the iconic character at a Mariners game.
However, amidst these leaks and rumors, there has been no explicit mention of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom or any potential DLC. Despite this, fans have been vocal in their hopes for a DLC announcement for Tears of the Kingdom during the Nintendo Direct event.
The Success of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been a massive success, earning high ratings and widespread acclaim. Given this success, it would make sense for Nintendo to continue supporting the game with additional content throughout the year. This approach has been seen before with Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild, released in March 2017, introduced its first DLC, The Master Trials, just three months later in June. If Tears of the Kingdom follows a similar timeline, the first DLC could potentially be released around August, three months after its May release.
However, fans should temper their expectations as there’s no concrete indication of a DLC reveal at the upcoming event.
