Dolphin is a neutral mob in Minecraft that was added in the Minecraft 1.13 aquatic update. Being both passive and hostile mob, dolphins can help you by boosting your swimming speed but they can also attack you in a group if you hit them first. Despite the fact they may kill you, dolphins can help you a lot by finding hidden treasures throughout the world.
So What Do Dolphins Eat in Minecraft?
You can feed either raw cod or raw salmon to dolphins in Minecraft. As long as you have the access to any rivers, lakes, or even ocean, catching cod or salmon is not a big deal.
When you feed raw cod or raw salmon to a dolphin, it will lead you to the nearest treasure chests they can find. Since dolphins can only detect the chests and not the structures, you may find shipwrecks, buried treasures, and ocean ruins on your way.
Different than other mobs, feeding dolphins raw cod or raw salmon do not make them enter the love mode. Therefore you can’t breed dolphins as well. So what’s the point of feeding dolphins in Minecraft, you may ask? To simply increase the trust and relationship with the dolphins.
